I want to buy a second hand motorbike - but where?

Post by Nille »

I need to get my act together and get myself a motorbike. Looking for a second hand option, 1-3 years old, <25k, in good condition. Do you have one to sell me?

Or, does anyone have a good second hand shop to recommend?

Or a second hand webpage...

Thanks!

Nille..check the classifieds, there's always a shop/rental firm selling-off some of their stock at 2yrs old.
I think the shop could be on Soi 80 but not sure. If the brakes work, tyres are OK, and it starts without
a mass of blue smoke..then maybe one of these bikes will do you..??

Oops..wrote you a reply & think its now in another thread..ha-ha.

There is a rental company in town always advertising 2nd hand bikes for sale..not sure but think they're
up Soi 80 somewhere..?? Most of bikes I've seen advertised are about 2yrs old.

Hi Nile,

Most of the shops selling motorbikes sell 2nd hand bikes. I know for sure the shop opposite the Tesco petrol station sells them. I assume many Thai's don't manage to pay the load back and their bikes end up back in the shops.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a second hand bike, as Thais are not necessarily the best when it comes to maintenance, so unless you know a bit about bikes, you don't know what you're buying...
