Weather
Hi
We are going to Hua Hin on the 24th Oct for 2 wks. We have been before but at a different time of year.
What is the weather likely to be? I know it is still the rainy season but what are the temperatures like?
I know this is a bit of a girly question but does it get cool in the evenings? Will a light jacket or cardigan be required for going out in the evening?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum jcn. Ironically there's a weather thread right above this one in the list of 'The Beach Bar' threads, 15 pages of it actually. Probably better to ask weather related questions in the established thread specifically for this subject.
You could also get a general feel for the weather at the moment by viewing the 'Weather & Currency' box towards the bottom of the page everyday until you come.

To answer your question anyway, I wouldn't bother with any extra clothing as it's still pretty hot in the evenings.
It might be worth bringing a light rain jacket or an umbrella though.

I wouldn't bother either, I don't think I've ever worn a jacket in Thailand.
It an get a bit nippy up in the boonies though.

Thats great thanks.

Back to where if I'm not being too forward? Always an interest on here about where folks come from and most recently, what they're paying in airfare to get here and back. No worries if you don't want to reply. Petejcn wrote:Thats great thanks.

In digging for our upcoming trip I found fares from Los Angeles around $850. I did get lucky and used frequent flier miles though

Hot and extremely humid. Chance of rain in the afternoons.

Welcome to the forum jcn.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

I always nick the blankets off the plane, the business class ones are great, the missus is always wrapped up in one watching a dodgy thai soap opera and they are spot on for the little lad.Khundon1975 wrote:I know how you feel jcn, those hotel towels are so big and thick, you will have a job closing your suitcases.jcn wrote:Thats great thanks.

I certainly wouldn't bother with a 'light mac' because waterproofs are far too sweaty, and a cotton mac in monsoon rain is as much use as a chocolate fireguard IMO.BaaBaa. wrote:STEVE G wrote:To answer your question anyway, I wouldn't bother with any extra clothing as it's still pretty hot in the evenings.

I've only ever needed a jacket in HH once - when having a meal at one of the seafront restaurants in November one year (even then my visitors thought I was mad to feel chilly.) And up North November/December time something like a pashmina is handy.
I wouldn't even bother to take an umbrella because they are so cheap to buy even in HH. Check out the old Shopping Mall. Thai umbrellas are pretty good quality as well and worth taking home.
