Shipping Agent from the UK to Thailand

Post by Siani »

Can anyone recommend a good shipping agent to Thailand please? Also can anyone hint on who not to use. if this is allowed? I have one name given to me begining with R that someone advised me not to use. Any idea what a rough cost would be for a 20 ft container? What would be the normal price expected to pay? :)

Guru,

Many thanks. Did you ship much furniture. Like Siani I am looking to ship some funriture as well as personal effects. I will be shipping in my wife's name (she is Thai) does this make it easier regarding Thai customs?

Once again, thanks for any help and advice.

I did not ship furniture, just 36 boxes of prsonal effects. The do ship furniture, they arrange delivery collection turn up on time and from beginning to end the service was faultless even at the Thai end. Best bet is have look at their website very informative.

3 years ago I used Simpsons-uk (.com)
Excellent service from packing everything, customs clearance etc. Tracking of ship. Delivery and unpacking in Hua Hin
About 28 boxes, bed and some other biggies was around 1500 quid
Thoroughly recomment them.#7 weeks from packing in UK (Derbyshire) to here
The wind blows cold on brake and heath
The weeping willows cry
The mountains dark are jagged teeth
Against a leaden sky.

More of a tech issue than removals really, but those questions from a browser are usually to do with a self generated security certificate as opposed to one bought from and certified by a recognised authority. Nothing necessarily wrong with it. But keep an eye on it generally just in case ;-)

I also used SIMPSONS in Kent and I sent all my furniture and personal effects.

They were excellent. They did the packing ( no breakages and loads of glass etc )

I had 130 items and 1,100 CuFt ( one large container I think )and cost £3995 shipping door to door, and unpacking in Hua Hin. Schenker were their agents in Bangkok and they also were excellent.
