Water prices
Hello all,
I think this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread so apologies if covering old ground....
Our development is not on city water, water supply is being brought in by the developer and regularily runs out. We've just been informed of a sizable increase in charge, from 5thb per cubic meter to 20thb per cubic meter. My question for those in a similar position is.....how much are you paying per cubic meter for water?

Re: Water prices
Before we got Government supply the developer was charging 16 Baht / cubic meter. May depend on what you mean by "bringing it in". If he has to have it trucked in maybe his supplier has increased his price. If he is running an underground bore pump, it maybe costing more now as the development grows, and the demand increases.HappyCamper wrote:Hello all,

City water from their mains can be as expensive as 15baht/unit + 7% VAT, so 16.05/unit. A unit is one cubic metre=1000 litres.
The city rates are graduated so heavy users pay more (as they should).
If the entire estate is on city water coming through one master meter than it will likely be at the 15baht rate. Developers/moobans may charge up to 20baht because there is infrastructure to maintain and having a contingency fund is prudent management.
AFAIK the water board will give individual meters that would then be billed at a lower rate (less individual use) but they may want to inspect the delivery infrastructure to make sure it meets their standard. That cost would be borne by residents/owners and could be as much as 2-3 million baht.

Over on my side of the Gulf the metered free allocation is now 30,000 liters per month, down from 50,000 during the previous campaign. I assume this is the same everywhere. Petechopsticks wrote:The average household pays about 5 -7 baht per 1000 litres for metered water unless they use huge amounts. For now, the total monthly bill is somewhat lower because, as with electricity usage, there's a free allocation of units each month as part of a nationwide government subsidy scheme.

I got my first water bill in today. Total is 52.27 baht (42.27+10) but I can't work out how they arrive at the 42.27 with the figures on the bill. And my Thai isn't good enough to translate the headings above the boxes but the rate will be any one of 8, 2.77, 11 or 15.
Can someone tell me where in HH I go to pay it?

Take a look at our map on location C8.
That's where you'll find the provincial water office and where you can pay your bill.
