hello all,
does anybody reccommend a english speaking & clean dentist in the hua hin area.my wife wants an exctraction but at the local dentist in the uk they want to charge £45,and that's on the national health!!.may i add she is in no pain.we are arriving next month, but surely thai prices would be a lot cheaper in hua hin?.please advise.

The dentist I would recommend in Hua Hin is Dr. Prasert Dental Clinic. His English is good and the receptionists English is good enough. It is only a tiny clinic but you should't let that put you off.

The clinic is located next to the PTT petrol station on the left hand side of Petchkasem Road if you are coming from a northerly direction. It is either between Soi 41 to 43 or Soi 43 to 45.

An extraction including medication cost B1500 3 months ago. I didn't feel a thing and was in and out in 30 minutes. I am currently undergoing a root canal procedure which including a crown will cost B15000 when it is completed as soon as I get back to Hua Hin next month.

I have tried 2 other dentists in Hua Hin and both have hurt me in the past, I had given up on dental work in HH until I found this clinic through HHAD.

Right you fang fiends have a go at the newly opened and spotless clinic on cnr Pketkasem and Soi 80 called SMILE. The better half had to have an extraction - took 15 minutes Max and 600Bht (back tooth lower jaw) had a squizz at the surgery - better than I had seen in OZ and ALL equip't new. In Oz same extraction ~ 6000Bht (10x more).
Didn't hurt (me) a bit!!!!

The Main Branch for SMILE dental is in Naebkhehars Road, situated between Dechanuchit Road and Chominsin Road.

I believe some of the dentists help out at the branches a day or so a week.

Does anyone know the current price for a crown in Hua Hin. Will be visiting in April and they want $800 in US ($1,200 with Obama Care and the crown falls off in 4 months with a 90 day warranty). Thanks in advance!

cheers. . .

I recently did some research on this, a porcelain fused to metal crown is about 6,000 Baht, porcelain fused to gold crown is about 12,000 Baht and fixed crown per tooth is about 800 Baht.
