Post by stgrhe »

Is there anyone who has any good or bad experience from the Pranburi Military Hospital?

Fortunately no personal experience, but I have heard it's quite good.

I have excellent experiences of PMH. I was there some months a few years back. Splendid service, qualified and competent
doctors and very good food. At the time private room there cost about the same as in any two-star questhouse in HH.

Particularly, if it is a matter of orthopedic surgery, do avoid San Paulo and HH Hospital like plague.

In orthopedics go to PMH and request the services of Dr Surachen. He saved my hand of amputation and thanks to him I walk.

I also know someone here who had a limb saved by the Tanarat Military Hospital a few years ago.

He originally went to San Paolo, who promptly told him they would have to amputate his leg.

He told them to feck off and went to Pranburi.

He still has his leg and is functioning again quite normally.

Why ask that question to the unqualified members of this forum ? When according to yourself your wife is a healthofficial working for the Thai goverment. Or as the rest of us would call it, she is a nurse! Trying to promote madams workplace ? Which actually might be a good thing, coz over the years, I have only heard good things about PMH from expats as well as from Thais.
Farang: I know it is none of my business, but what happend to you, since you ended in the hospital in such dire condition ? Glad everything went well for you.

You again, why is it always you thaiorchid? The way you comment other members posts are very unfriendly and arrogant and therefore I see no point in answering. You must be a very unhappy person. :cuss: :guns:

thaiorchid,
I think the OP was asking whether people had any experience of the hospital, not whether they were qualified brain surgeons.
A totally legitimate question and it certainly wouldn't bother me one iota if the OP's wife worked there (as you've suggested) because there hasn't been one negative comment about the place, so far.
That's quite refreshing, bearing in mind the comments that have been posted over the years about the major HH hospitals.
This thread just might help some people :thumb:

Hi thaiorchid

I've read most of your posts and in many of them you make a lot of valid points which are a valuable contribution to the forum.

So is it really necessary sometimes to be so abrasive and apparently try deliberately to hurt other people's feelings.

Or maybe I've got this completely wrong and it isn't your intention at all??!!

Could it be a sense of humour that is only discernible to the author?

The vast majority of people who use the HHAD forum do so mainly for information purposes - though evidently there is the odd langer now and again who is so full himself and just wants to be a cyber-exhibitionist.

I don't honestly believe that you want to be counted among the above category but others are maybe already close to assuming that this could well be the case.

I would personally like to see you continue making positive contributions here.

So can't we just try to leave the snide personal gibes out of it?

chok dee

Hi Barry.
First of all, thank you for improving my English vocabulary. :D
Secondly, no honestly I am not trying to deliberately hurt other peoples feelings. I do not know any of the other posters personally, so my postings here are directed to their cyber-alter-egos, but ofcourse there is a person behind the avatar.
On the other hand if I should react to all the names, I have been called during my short existence on this forum, I should have hanged myself a long time ago. But sorry guys I have thick skin.
This is my first forum, and I am still learning. Realising that it is not easy to get a seat at the popular kids table !
No I am not a cyber-exhibitionist (lovely word), I am in HH to stay and will hopefully in the future be a valued member of this forum.
On the other hand (I can not keep my mouth shut) if the forum only consisted of polls about IMO very mundane topics, immigration and police-corruption, if would soon lose its appeal, to at least the old hands here. So that is why I have tried to create some debate, maybe sometimes crossing the line ?
I have to admit, that I admire some of the posters here, who has been around for many years and still have the patience to explain whatever to the stupid kids in a nice and friendly way.
I am a different animal, more like a Tasmanian devil.
But Barry, point(s) taken. Appriciated.

Are you OK? Thaiorchid".... refered to your comment, you wrote....

I don't know what is wrong with you to blame to someone else as unqualified members!! do you mean someone like yourself? I don't care who is the nurse or doctor or what so ever.. but the topic is ask in general...

What i have read and think about this forum is useful to other and benefit to most people in varieties... you can get the information from others while you have no experience and got a clue to do.

I have found that people in this forum are good heart, positive thinking and helpful... What about you??

thaiorchid,
I think a key thing to remember when using this forum is that as well as the people like you and me who write posts in response or create threads, there are many, many more who just read, either because they have nothing to add or don't feel confident to or whatever, so when you reply you are addressing more than just one poster - you could easily have 1000 eavesdroppers, who may (or may not) garner valuable insights from the postings made. It may be one day you will confess to someone in person that you are 'thaiorchid' on HHAD and that person's view of you may change because of some post you made in the past; that may not bother you at all but it is just something to be aware of for everyone. I agree that some of the threads can be a bit banal or sterile so provocative posters can be a good thing but we should all be civil to each other as a bare minimum. Always try to address the post, not the poster, is a good motto in my book (even though I have kind of gone against that in this post!). :thumb:

Lets get back to topic... I would like to hear more about the hospital at Pranburi. Previously I have heard that if you have a problem in HH, head for the hospital in Petchaburi. Pranburi is closer and it is of some import. You say it is a Military Hospital but it appears to be available to all comers. Is that correct?

I think Thaiorchid is a brave person.
The tread about PMH is old news. You can go back in this forum
and get all the information about this hospital and other hospitals
lasting for a lifetime.
I dont think that these hospitals has changed much in their service
this last year.
Maybe we should think before we start a new tread ?
