Moving next weekend, from one part of Hua Hin to another, and need some boxes to pack stuff in. Big/small enough for one person to carry.
Know where I could pick some up at?
Thanks,
I need moving boxes.

Hi Poe,
We moved house recently and needed A LOT of boxes. Luckily, we'd made friends with the local shops and they were happy to off-load their beer boxes for free. They're an ideal size as it's surprising how much stuff you can pack into them, but they're still not too heavy for a light-weight like me to pick up.
Cardboard boxes can be recycled, and most shops sell them on for a few baht per kilo. Why don't you try asking round the shops around where you live? OK, they may want a couple of baht for them, but you could always sell them off when you've unpacked. Alternatively, leave them outside your gate and they'll disappear quite rapidly.
As a kind of aside, Mr.VS and I tend to get through a few bottles of beer in the course of a week. Yes we could take them to the recycling centre, but I prefer to give them to the Som Tam stall next door. They think we're good guys (albeit mild alcoholics
), they get a bit of dosh for them and they keep an eye on the place when we're out.
Good luck with the move - it can be extremely stressful...

I found a very friendly man on Soi 6 right before the train tracks that sells rice, alcohol and soft drinks.
He had an area in the back full of boxes, and was glad to give us some.
We gave him a tip and he said that if we needed any more, just come back.
Looks like we might have too…..pretty amazing how much stuff accumulates after awhile.
Do people do “garage sales” here? (http://www.answers.com/topic/garage-sale)
Would probably have to have a work permit, hmmm….
