For Charity (Head rock Dogs)

Post by (buffalo) Bill »

Hi Lorraine here,
Ye Olde Buffalo Tavern Hua Hin 10th January
A great charity event in aid of HEAD ROCK DOGS, will be taking place at The Buffalo Tavern on 10th Jan 2009 from 7pm onwards. Please come along and help raise much needed cash towards the spaying of numerous street dogs in an attempt to lessen the population. There are a few very kind and dedicated ladies who work endlessly to clear the streets of sick, injured and neglected animals and to better the lives of those animals already living in various shelters. Dogs need food and, very often, medication - this obviously costs money the only money that comes in is donations, you can make a difference.
For one night only and probably the best entertainment in Hua Hin, the one and only, Maestro of Music, The Dubliner’s (Bangkok) fantastic Lee Shamrock will be performing once again. For those who missed Lee’s first performance on 29th Nov at the Buffalo Tavern, you now have a second chance to see this master entertainer at work. No doubt those who were here will be back first in line to make sure they don’t miss out.
The evening will also consist of raffles, for which there are some great prizes kindly donated by the major hotels, items for auction and of course a big buffet, courtesy of Bill. Please put this great evening’s entertainment in your diary for 10th Jan, and help this very worthwhile cause, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Tickets will be on sale very soon at The Buffalo Tavern for the price of 250 baht, ALL proceeds going towards the charity. Hope to see you there!

I am not sure if I'll still be in Hua Hin, but it sounds an interesting evening, Lorraine. I'll check my schedule.

Sandman Lorraine here. sorry that it offends you so much - in future when you see a thread from us don't bother looking at it. You probably don't frequent our establishment anyway so are just blackening your nose. I'm hosting an event in aid of charity and want to raise as much money as possible. If your only contribution to this is to criticise the title, then I'm sure you're not thinking of coming along anyway. Go and bother someone else.

Lorraine

this is from another poster on a separate thread about the number of ads on the board:
OK, moving away from the original topic slightly, but not wanting to start a new thread unnecessarily - how about creating a new forum/section for sponsors? Sponsors may only advertise in this section; not here, there and everywhere as happens at present. That way, we (the consumers and potential customers) know roughly what we're getting when we click on a site and don't waste our time clicking on something we think might be interesting only to find it's a supposedly clever way of getting us to look at an advert.
Im not alone see....

look, I appreciate you need to advertise.....so why dont you just make it clear what the thread is about and stop with the obscure thread titles?

Good luck with the charity night

OK, Sandman has a point and so does the "other poster" that he quoted.

I will refrain from saying anything else, other than to quote someone that has a masterful, impacting/'doesn't waste his words' sort of way.

Quote - "<8> Thread titles
Please be descriptive with your thread titles................"

May you draw your own conclusions.

Sandman if I headed the thread with 'Another Charity Event', many people wouldn't bother to look. 538 hits so far, not bad in 2 days

C'mon its Christmas time, dont be alone, come down and have some fun, we have a charity event on 10th Jan if you hadn't heard!!!
