I'm certainly no butter expert, and I had to go check in the fridge to see what the name of the brand is, but I use Allowrie. The package is covered with Thai writting and it says it's processed in Bang Na; however, it has a drawing of the outline of Australia on it with a silhouette of a kangaroo inside the outline so I guess it's an Aussie brand with a plant in Bangkok.
I think it's one of the less expensive brands here and it seems good to me.
we buy it in bulk. a five kilo box works out at 640 baht with a sell buy date of one year. you can freeze it. works out at 1000 baht saving against buying the normal size packs that retail for 70-75 baht.

Not really fussed as to which brand I use, Foodland in Bangkok has a decent variety.
Unsalted butter for cooking, it doesn't burn the pan. Some dishes call for a 50-50 mix of butter and olive oil, but for some stir-fries you need - heaven forbid! - fresh lard!
