Purely as a matter of interest, why did it take you so long to join the forum as a participant rather than just a voyeur.

I was a voyeur for nearly two years I think before being bothered to join. Many people out there wish I had kept it that way.

I also waited until I had also arrived in Hua Hin because until then one does not know the local scene in order to contribute in a meaningful way on local issues. I personally consider it to be a Hua Hin forum but I see many others do not and that is fine.

Welcome Bazza,

I to, like Pet, read the forum for a couple of years before moving here to learn more about life in this part of Thailand. I didn't start posting until I had lived here long enough to feel like I had something to contribute.

I hope life is good for you here. In my early days (and still) I find the "Ask The Expats" thread to be very helpful when you need goods or a service you can't locate.

Enjoy

Hi, This is my first real post as I have only recently discovered this great site,I,m another Bazza but from Australia. My wife and I are coming to Hua Hin for a 6 month stay arriving 26 Aprl.
I have read some of the mail relating to problems with rentals but we will have to deal with these problems as we encounter them, not much point worring about it yet-but its good to be forwarned.
If there are any suggestions on where we can rent a house or condo, preferably within walking distance to the night market (in other words in town) we would appreciate it. We need 2 bedrooms (our kids want to visit us with the grandkids!), kitchen (thai/european) and with airconditioning, fully furnished and in a quiet area. I think thats it Thanks in advance for any suggestions and looking forward to arriving
