Locations that serve a "good" American / English breakfast.

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

Very good on the whole....

but 69 baht for a cup of tea when you're bringing your own tea seems steep to me

Kindly provide BB with a photo of the sausages before making such a bold claim.
I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.

Their sausages were always perfect (from my favourite supplier), so I presume the new management will not downgrade.

If you are buying breakfast and bringing your own tea they should just give you that hot water at no charge along with a hearty handshake.

It didn't take long, we went along to give it a try today.

A shiny new place, which looked very clean. Some tables outside, but the majority of tables inside, with the aircon. I think it was the owner sat outside with a few friends smoking, so we moved inside.

On the inside, the kitchen area is along one wall. When we entered the temperature on the wall clock was showing as 30C. We asked for the aircon to be switched on, and although the temperature appeared to have dropped, the thermometer was reading 32C when we left.

Now down to business, the food. I ordered a medium breakfast, my son ordered a large breakfast and my wife ordered pancakes and fruit. I received a small breakfast

The beans, even though the smaller variety were probably the best baked beans I've had in a long time.

The 'hash brown?' was certainly different and seemed to be home made. I looked at it and thought yuk. However, it actually tasted quite nice.

The bacon was too well cooked for me, although I accept that is personal preference. Taste was OK.

The sausage was a brand I don't remember having before. It was a little stumpy, but tasted very nice.

Tomato and mushrooms was tomato and mushrooms - not a lot you can say about those.

A couple of rounds of toast, with butter and jam, plus a cup of coffee.

All in all, not a bad breakfast, but I still prefer T&Ms. Again, personal preference - absolutely nothing wrong with this breakfast.

My wife's pancakes were a little slow coming, but she ate all but one pancake, and all of her fruit. This was quite an achievement in itself, because she has been off her food lately.

In conclusion, a good breakfast, and a very good addition to the breakfast scene; but I doubt I'll be back, simply because I prefer T&Ms, which is closer to home.

I should have added that even though we received smaller portions than ordered, we both had ample food.

Good review other than you didn't mention the price?

^That Sunrise place looks interesting. I drive down the length of soi 88 nearly everyday that I'm in Hua Hin and often wanted to stop for breakfast somewhere.
If I remember correctly, you can find parking in that part of the road.

Yes, it's directly across from the entrance to the Chinese Temple on the hill. There is a fair bit of waste ground next to the area of shop houses - I parked easily today.

Quite a large breakfast selection, but the basic English breakfasts were:

Small - 209
Medium - 239
Large - 269

The difference being small you get 1 of everything, medium you get 2 and large you get 3.

To be honest, in the heat of Asia I never have the appetite to eat too large a breakfast but I drive down 88 for a walk on the beach and some sustenance on the way is a good idea.
