Just an FYI after all the frustrations of viewing here in Thailand. Got up at 0230 this morning at my Hong Kong hotel, turned on the TV, hit the Nicam button and had the match in English, Cantonese and Mandarin...your choice. Why can't life be easy like that here. :banghead: Pete

Strange old WC! On the whole it's been disappointing, as have Spain, yet tonight they beat the Germans who have been outstanding. Not sure how I feel about that as you want the Champions to have been the demonstrably best team throughout and neither the Spanish or Dutch have been. A case of function over form I guess?

Still, may the best team win!

IMHO a much better game of football tonight. For me, Spain must win the tournament if playing football has any part to play.

I don't know if the Dutch were dragged down to the level of their opponents last night, but there was too much diving (blatant cheating) for me in that game.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Dream final coming for me. These are the two teams I was hoping to see in the final. I don't care too much which team will win, they are both ok and worthy to be new World Champions. That's the first time for me that I can just watch and enjoy a final without feeling stress.

Hi there everyone

Here in Germany dissapointment all over the Country over this terrible loss but in My Holy own the Spaniards where clearly technically superb there Football a class even better than even the Germans who played very good Football during the competition but tonight they had been to passive! And when the counter chance came they had no power anymore!
The final deggar in the Heart of German Team came from Puyols header! Than the Spaniard Striker Pedro could have sealed it! But His Ego waas in the way!
The understudy bows  down in Deep respect to the Spanisjh Team or As they call themselves Furia Rocha "Red Fury". Allthouh I'm dissapionted but had expected that Germany would loose against Spain As predicted by the Match predicting Octopus Paul of Sealife Aquarium in Oberhausen which has for this World Cup a pretty damn good successrate!

to be fair the spanish made the germans look pretty average tonight.
they were strong in defence & the germans were chasing shadows at times in midfield.
maybe england & the argies made them look slightly better than they were? :|
i think they will come on strong for the the next euros though & most definately the next WC.

holland- played 6, won 6, what more do you want?  :D

Agree can't argue with that.......but. It just hasn't been that impressive and at times they have been tedious, as was much of the game against Uruguay. As has been much of the competition.

Spain looked very good tonight, so where have they been for the last few weeks, or maybe it was because Torres didn't start?

i agree with you that it has been a largely disappointing world cup overall.

though i've enjoyed many of the games, no particular team has really stood out for me.

probably :D
mind you, his replacement pedro did have a good game :thumb:

The Dutch lost two finals in a row back in those days, the tide has to turn. My money is on them.
Well, half of my money is already there! :) :) :)

i'm in the same boat, but i will admit to having a slight leaning towards the dutch, as they will be slight underdogs

The fate of Paul this match predicting Kraken has also been decided he would go in the saucepan and turned into Seafood Paella and served to the German National Team when they arrive back from Afriqya!!!

For. All animal advocades among you please don't ya worry The octopus will not be harmed in any way by ze German Sealife Aquarium
