I thought all the talk about beating Italy by 60-odd points in order to get a better points difference than Ireland was pretty silly. As far as I was concerned, it was always a question of making sure of the win, then hoping the Mangeurs de Fromage could get their collective fingers out of their
cul and beat the Irish.
And for the first 10 minutes, it didn't look like an English win was going to be guaranteed. Fortunately, the scrum sort of got their act together, the lineout was excellent, Care, Farrell and Brown were excellent too, and England went from strength to strength.
13 minutes from time, a 60-point win looked feasible. But then came the slightly fortunate interception try, and that, combined with the disruption of the rhythm caused by the substitutions (apart from Tuilangi, who looks awesome), was really that.
The last England try was a hoot, with Italy trying to run it out of their own 22 after the 80-minute mark, and then losing possession. Again.
Worth mentioning that Robshaw, after a dodgy start, has turned out to be a really good skipper.
Well done, England, and, much as I hate to say it - ALLEZ LES BLEUS!
