Today was dumb and seemingly not sanctioned, but to call them a bunch of hillbillies is a wee bit off the mark, when its apparant they are anything but. Just checkout their facebook page.
Was sanctioned actually. Various media were there when Jutaporn was supporting the action as it happened, he just condemned it afterwards to deflect blame. Further, the guy who went there pointed out that senior leaders were perfectly aware of the plan.

@Sargent, I wasn't aware of the situation with the journalist and it would certainly explain a few things. However, they still have a duty to be impartial.

The reason why they are banned are because they broke les majeste laws. It is pretty clear that it should be above politics so there is no reason to talk about it.

I saw the program here in Aus and it was pretty good and fairly balanced...but what they are reporting here in Aus is just blatantly one sided, there is loads of stuff that doesnt get reported like the hospital until 3 days later and then its spun to look like the soldiers were using it as a base.

cozza while i wont dispute your view of what you are watching in Aus we here where it is happening lost ABC Aus for a couple of weeks   :banghead: . As to coverage here there is not one single TV channell that IS NOT ANTI RED SHIRT the ONLY pro red shirt TV channel was closed down
web sites are closed down or you cannot bring them up

it is nearly impossible to get to the truth and certainly NOT through the media it is so one sided

when the hospital thing happened i condemned it outright it was wrong one person or maybe 2 could have checked it out for military but a mob out of order full stop. As i told all my thai friends loudly as people who know me will understand.
But it took a fair few hours for me to convince myself it wasnt just more propaganda first

this problem is so multi faceted with so many vested interest factions which i am slowly getting my head round and yet am so far far away from understanding it would be almost impossible to say or type anything that would not piss of some faction somewhere

just saying i am a total believer in a pure democracy headed by a benevolent monarch and i dont care what party wins as long as it is the majority (my actual stance) would probably draw fire from pad and sondhi limokhuls new politics factions plus a few others

all i want is peace and i am trying hard to work out what will happen next purely for me to be able make or take informed decisions for my wife family and myselfs safety and futures.
in this climate of speech and media suppression and propaganda and lies (from both sides) that is bloody hard to do

sargeant,

So what your saying is that the media "where it is happening" cant get it right and its all propaganda but the media where I am, which you will not dispute is off air because they are speaking the truth?

So I am to believe you because you are there and get anti-red propaganda but because I am not even in the country and getting the good stuff, too good it gets blocked, I am full of it?

Make sense???

I have investments and family in Thailand right now too and do not want them hurt or otherwise. I too want a stable country and fair rights for all, but this lot, from what propaganda and one sided media informs me, are out of control and have taken it way to far!

I agree, the only truth is what we see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears.

There is no truth, only the perceptions of it promoted by the governments and media...

Thailand doesn't need this, and neither does the expat community here. I say no more, except that in my gut I feel this guy is as phony as a 3$ bill. Pete

Yet another member of the SAS - damn that regiment's big!

Certainly not going to help matters and with a bit of luck will get his just deserts with regards to breaking Thai laws.

Getting a farang on stage by a movement that hates them is a hypocritical publicity stunt, sure their myopic sheep will like it ... what on earth will these idiots come up with next?

Absolutely Buskida, Thaksin and his lot are the designers and the driving force behind why life is so freaking difficult for foreigners these days in Thailand. Mid 90s it was easy, all the pretty disciminatory bollox around now comes from his administration and just before.

Complete hypocrisy, well said.
