Its offensive to the Thais and offensive on our eyes.
You might think you look sexy walking up Soi Binterbart at night in speedo's (yes i have seen such a sight) with your beer belly scraping on the floor or your torso festooned with scenes from the Beano. Well i got news for you pal - YOU AINT! Save it for the beach and show some respect to our Hosts and the rest of us.

But the behaviour by a certain small minotrity of visitors who walk around topless carrying bottles of beer and making a lot of noise does nothing whatsoever for the tourist business. The Dutch solution was zonalization. A sytem that has been discussed here for years but never implemented. I.e. keep all the down market attractions in a certain area.

I would agree that more families are coming to Thailand but anyone who thinks only 20% are sex tourists is living in another world.

Go into any bar in Hua Hin or anywhere else for that matter and you will see mainly single men with thai girlfriends.

I saw the classic example this afternoon, young scandi guy comes to the bar with his bar girl with shoes, handbags, and an assortment of gifts.

What i dont understand is why so many young men are sex tourists, cant they really find a nice girl in their own country.

Hua Hin is more of a family destination but it is small campared to Pattaya and no one can deny the the ratio of single men there.

How would ABTA know what the ratio is????

Do they survey people who board the plane or book a ticket. on most of the flights i have been on to Thailand there always seems to be more single men than anything else, mind you i do fly s-express airways.

If you live here long enough you know the local girls and when you see a new face with one of them you just know.
