Hi Pete - I've ended up with flights next month from my local UK airport - KLM/China via Schipol - 10 weeks return date (which can be changed subject to availability) for 735 each stirling.
It was such a nightmare trying to even find flights that I had to make a decision or risk not even getting to the LOS before Christmas.
The same flight 2 years ago was over 200 less.

I guess so was the Tax! It's now almost 50% of the fare.
