I have gone from one extreme to the other over the years as is my none moderate nature.

Teetotal, benders, social drinking only, weekends only and prolonged daily drinking.

All have really been based on the lifestyle I am leading, people I am mixing with, work commitments and boredom.

To me the prolonged daily drinking is the killer. Drinking at lunchtime and after a short break resumption at night. Sometimes until dawn with other frivolities thown in or attempted. End result? No proper diet, irregular sleep patterns and some times aching loins.

Age and the amount of physical activity is also a factor.

I have managed to find the word moderation in the dictionary and have decided to give it a go. The combination of middle age, ill health and a very reduced physical life have convinced me to heed the dictionarys definiton.

Cheers   Oops

From a binge drinker to 3-4 times /week. Is that still bingeing??
If they had a decent range of beers here like I just observed and tried (some) in Belgium I would then like to think that I was a beer "connysewer".

Has it taken you 20+ years to write this then?

I'll drink 2 or 3 times a week when I'm in England but I'll have a few beers everyday when I'm in Thailand.

Probably a bit too much when it's a 6 week stretch though.

BaaBaa! You're not here! No wonder you didn't answer the door when I came round for a beer the other day... :P

I used to drink a few kwat yai everyday, and a few more on weekends. Then last year my triglyceride #s were very high, so I cut back to a few bottles on weekends and bought a treadmill.

I had noticed you'd changed your location.

I suppose, after seeing your photos, technically my place could be in your garden.

I really only drink twice a week  Usually the first session lasts four nights but the second one is only three nights :D It is hot over here and there's nothing quite like a nice cool Chang Yai while watching the world go by :D

Just the 1 or 2 sessions, you shouldn't go overboard.

That's more than adequate for each day of the week.

Just a few glasses of Vino Collapso a week now  but I was never a heavy drinker and hated that "I'm gonna puke, get me to the bog" feeling.

The thing about living in the tropics is the need to keep hydrated and to ward off scurvy, so I used this as my main excuse for the Singa and fresh lime consumption, when we were there.

That and the cheap price.

I voted 'just a tipple on special occasions'.

Like a day in the week ending in Y.

If I do have a big session, then I always try and have a few days off and it is very rare that I drink at home.

I'm astounded. The pole, at this stage, would indicate that the majority of HHAD is a bunch of Pissheads!Image

I think the Poll may have malfunctioned!

I'm actually surprised there aren't more "daily drinkers". How else do you cope with this place? :D
