Guess, You seem to have missed the point.

If I am the sole importer of a particular product into Thailand and hold the import rights on this product then one would expect to sell at best price.

So if Villa have say Branston Beans that JD holds the import rights for we can assume they buy from him. up to speed so far Guess?

After Villa put their mark up on this product one would assume ther would have to sell at a slightly inflated price, Yes.

Richard

I am sure on my last visit I saw those Large tins of Colemans mustard in the old Shopping mall, (opposite temple).

Norseman,

Your jokes are just too much, you should be on stage. With a Brush.

BTW,
The chap that used to own H&B was I think called Adrian, never seen him on last visits and newbies in town dont know him, can any oldtimers tell me if he is around still or has he moved on.

I make my own sausages from a photocopied recipe book given to me by Dunc the original owner now deceased sadly :D :D

I would also add having imported stuff to here in the past i dont think people in general have any idea how much tax and extra costs JD has to take into account before he even puts a price on anything

Those sausages sound a bit dry to me, sarge, or do you add some sauce to the minced photocopy? :D

Grandson, let me tell you a tale from long ago in Thailand. It was the summer of 2008, and the sausage wars broke out in a place named Hua Hin, south of Bangkok. Oh it was ugly, links flying everywhere and when that wasn't enough, jars of mustard and baked beans. All of this was an issue between foreigners, so naturally it didn't make the Thai history books.

They tried to resolve the issue at a beach cook-off. All combatants brought their favorite sausages, condiments and beans and the only impartial judges were the Yanks. However, when the winner was announced, a more fierce battle erupted on the basis that Yanks don't know a good sausage from a hole in the ground.

I left town that day with nothing but smoke and ashes trailing me all the way to Bangkok. There's only tumbleweed and a few rusting grills left where Hua Hin once was. I hear tell that if you dig in the sand at the beach now, every once and a while you'll find some bones and bean cans. Pete

Missed the point maybe. You missed a few brain cells. You have picked on one single line that you may have an argument with (but you are wrong anyway) and totally ignore every other response, not just from me but all the other posters.

You don't generally get a sole import license, supply your customers and then deliberately undercut them. Branston products has only just been mentioned by you so how the f*** was I supposed to know what you were referring to. I assume that was an example as I have never heard of Branston beans unless they are another label place on Crosse & Blackwell products.

I have been in the business of secondary supplying, (I admit not with pickles and condiments) and pricing guarantees will always be in the contract. I know this is Thailand so may be different but you have not mentioned any specifics so how can the comparison be done.

You have completely missed the point on a subject you obviously only know as a layman.

You are unlikely to get any replies about the previous owner whatever his name is. We all just jumped off the last Gung Galleon.

That is my final participation in this dialogue.

In think it will go down in history as the 3rd sausage and bean crusade where the new weapon of pickles, supplemented by condiments were used for the first time in battle.

The first battle of the first crusade took place between Pattaya and Jomtien back in '99. Simple Simon the Pieman, Pam the Porker and Kiwi Duncan (RIP). Those were the days. Worse was to come with the arrival of the Big Bollock Brained Butcher from Bangkok aka Trevor the Terrible.

Mmmmmm.. Just read back a bit on this thread and having been shopping in Villa today can confirm that they do stock sausages for 300 a pack and more, depending on type .You can find them right next to the goose livers for 2600, a short trolley push from the Alaskan king crab claws .Lower priced brands are available elsewhere in the store and around town, if you have not had a coronary at the thought of spending 3 quid a head on a dinner imported from thousands of miles away that is .

Enjoy your noodles in the morning .personally I will be mainlining a breakfast pack into my carotid arteries .

There again I am obviously one of JD's little imps, bound by the power of the sacred seasoning  into eternal bondage and servitude of my master .

Shop locally and be mindful of the precious things
