Hello Me Again

Post by rtjordan »

Hello me again

After reading the returned post from this new thread which a lot of people got touchy about for some reason, I would like to say that I think most people know that there are many cheap food stalls and carts selling good food and some not so good, my family and I have been to some our these said stalls but I must admit that we are wary to eat from them all the time as most are not licensed and also not regulated not even running water. The lack of hygiene at some of these places does cause concern. I came back with a reply to a post that I thought was somewhat unfair then started a new post by mistake for which I apologise being a newbi an all.

I will say this though some of you must understand not all people like Thai food but still want to visit Thailand and travel around the world to experience a different culture and in a country very different to their country of origin. Many of you who write regularly on this forum make it sound as if it is sacrilege to eat western food whilst in Thailand and some idiot said;

‘‘I cant understand when there is so much good cheap tasty Thai food around you would want to pay more and eat ferrang food. Generally it tastes 'bag o shite' I know the food is one of the aspects I enjoy about living here’’

Well good luck to you but fortunately we’re all different.

Someone also said BB was entitled to his own opinion. Whoever said that is right nobody said he wasn’t!!!!!!

Many people have said The Buffalo Tavern is a tourist trap. Well so what if it is. There isn’t a sign saying locals are not welcome. In fact I can fully understand why tourists and locals alike head their for reasons mentioned many times – clean, comfortable, clean toilets and very good food. Who wants to end up with Bangkok Belly when on holiday. But having just said that when I was there we met locals some with there their children who came over to my kids and invited them to play together. It is a perfect place for families to frequent and for people who just want to enjoy a drink without ladies of the night hanging around offering neck massages and god knows what else.

OK I'm gonna lock this as it's basically a continuation of your other thread on this subject rtjordan.

I also don't think you are doing YOBT any favours by bringing this up and coming across as being confrontational with the other members.

Personally I have eaten at YOBT on many occasions, I've always enjoyed the food, the company, the atmosphere and the service I have received. Because of this I've not had issue about the costs.

Every body has different tastes, and rate their preference of the five points raised above in differing orders of priority.

Bill's place will always be on my list of places to go back again, because I always leave having had a good time. I can always turn up and meet other Hua Hin friends who are there and it gives it a 'one of my locals' feel.

Please continue any other comments about YOBT on the threads already open.
