Good to see somebody else understands about saunas, too. Do you have them in Estonia as well? I actually wouldn't be surprised, close relatives of ours that you are. As I mentioned earlier, there's a chance for real Finnish sauna here in Hua Hin as well.

About saunas - yes we have them in Estonia as well and these are different types
- steam sauna , this we call here "russian sauna"
- dry and VERY hot , this is Finnish sauna
- and we have homemade sauna tradition, where is mix of above + lot of smoke , this is called "estonian smoke sauna" 8) this will extend Yours body storage time, remeber about smoked sausages :D

Re sugar cane, no no no the bit about acclimatising and NOT getting bitten is good news! I shall be coming to LOS armed with plenty of insect repellant!

These were quite common in Finland as well in the old days. I remember my grandfather had one in his summer cottage.
