Diplomacy is the ability to tell a man to go to hell so that he looks forward to making the trip
Travelled on this bus two weeks ago from Hua Hin to Victory Monument.
The fare now is 200 Baht.
Victory Monument terminus is at the foot of the steps up into the BTS station.
It couldn't get any closer if it tried.
It stopped twice - time to drain the spuds and refuel the van.
Second stop to refuel again.
I think it uses the gas not petrol or diesel.
Nice enough journey, took 3 hours. Time was wasted on some people coming to collect an envelope from the Driver.

Spare seats.
Did the return trip yesterday. One 'falang' was annoyed because he needed 3 seats and there were 4 and had to wait for the next van. They let me on but not him.
The driver picked up 3 people before exiting HH, Pre-booked obviously.
The seats aren't suited to my tall frame. I would rather wait for the next van than sit at the back. Quick though so bearable.

Hi all
Just noticed this topic and although I posted in "Intros", I thought I would ask here- I arrive at swampy about 7:00am and don't want to go to Victory Monument, just want to go straight to Hua Hin however, any others done this by taxi or bus at the airport.
Thanks Barry

Barry, it seems that no one knows details of a bus or minibus direct service to Hua Hin from Swampy.mako wrote:

So it looks like you are are number one eye. You have thereby been given the honourary title of HHAD Swampy to Hua Hin road travel reporter.
I have never been to the place but at Don Muang there was always at least one competent English speaker at the travel information desk. So that's a good position to start.
I cannot believe that a tourist beach resort town so close to BKK does not have a dozen companies competing with each other for the business.
Of course it may be a case of plain old fashioned greed by the airport officials and unofficials.
Sorry to sound negative. 99% of all such queries get an accurate response from posters but in this case it seems that no one has done the journey directly. This is one of many threads on exactly the same subject. None have had the answer everybody wants.

The answer is that there are no minibus / bus service between Suvarnabhumi and Hua Hin.
Go and ask a for a taxi which should cost you between 2.000 -2.500 Baht, or, if you are alone, jump on one of SGA's flights to Hua Hin. http://www.sga.co.th/main/sga_travel.php

I intend to live forever - so far so good.
I get a taxi which I book in advance in Hua Hin, this costs 1,800 Baht. The best I negotiated at the airport was 2,000 baht but most taxis will try for a much higher price.
PM me if you want email address or phone number. What date are you arriving ?
