Hi ya All

God i remember all of this....Wish i knew about HHAD Back then...

We got refused first time...totally naive...Applied for a student visa

stating she wanted to come here to learn....of course this wasnt

the reason as she wanted to come here to be with me and learn...

So she was advised to just go to BKK uni or something....

At the time i had no idea....Both gutted....2 Months of heart ache

later i was there got hitched ( Wasnt a holiday fling 2 years in the making )

3 months later she got off the plane here....4 years later were expecting

No1 Son in 10 days.....wouldnt change a thing.... Mind which id researched

as i got burned by the Visa Company....Looking back i was clueless....

No real change there then....sorry for rambling on but this thread just

brought everything back......... :D
The only Geordie in sleepy Cha am since 2009

Hi Richard
Can I take up your offer of getting copies of those visa Embassy refusals that you mentioned.
Not sure what the rules are on this website about posting emails address's, maybe you can advise me on that.

forget that one - in my earlier posting I said that I had copies of a couple of refusals. In one of them, one of the reasons for refusal was the fact that the lady coldn't be a good mother because she was prepared to leave her child for a couple of months. They did not see this as any form of commitment.

We got refused the first time we used an agency at the embassy as far as I can remember they charged us about 30.000 baht 20.000 if it failed to say they were useless would be paying them a compliment.
By this time I was back in the UK. What I did was email my partner with:
Pictures of my flat interior and exterior.
a letter stating I would be totally responsible for her
Details of my job and income showing I could support her
She made sure she 500,000 baht in the bank borrowed from her mum but did not use it.
Details of her business which would be running while she was away.
Took all this into the embassy 3 days later she had visa for 6 months.
Hope this is helpful if I can find copy of my letter I will PM you.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

Hi Tinker, some very good advice been given here, :thumb: :D  just go about this in a very carefull way because any visa application fee's are non refundable if you dont get the visa.I was told by a couple of guys with Thai wife's "no chance" of getting a visa that soon, well i proved them wrong my wife got a fiance visa in 5 and a half months it's all about the effort and care you put into it i did not use an agent because i wanted to really put my heart into this emotional journey. The most important things don't lie, and proof of relationship, they will want from you six months pay slips, bank statements, a letter from you employer to comefirm how much you earn, phone bills high lite the numbers you call, emails, photos proof of home ownership, or a one year lease on a property,a letter of sponsorship, and any other relevent info you can supply.we applied 2 and a half years ago and was told there was a 6 week waiting time on application's after 2 weeks the embassy phoned my wife and brought the inteview forward 3 weeks so be prepared for this.At the interview they are quite intence and will try to catch you girl out with a few trick qestions so make sure you get everything strate, they asked my wife,"if you are a farmer why is your nails so beautiful",she repilied "because i love myself" also they asked where did we meet, and wot does you future husband do for his occupation and what's the name of the company, also my date of birth and wot my family members names are, so be prepared.I will PM you my mobile number so if you want to ask me any qestions feel free to call me only to happy to help.

Hi All

I'm also new to the board (first post) and in an almost identical situation as Tinker (Thai G/f whom I would like to visit me in the UK). So far the information and advice given has been a great help, thanks to everyone.

Caller, I was wondering if you would be able to provide me the with the same info you are providing Tinker, ie the Embassy refusals and the place you mentioned regarding expert advice? I just really want to get the first application right as I've heard refusals can count against you when re-applying.

What if youve got a kid but are not married as is my situation.
Is that as good as being married in the eyes of the petty people in an office.
This is only in theory mind, god forbid dragging the other half to the land of no SomTam.
Obviously the (6 week old) little'un is dual nationality but does that help my Girlfriends case if we wanted to visit the family in sunny England.

BaaBaa,

Little one or not, if you are genuinely cohabiting, and can prove that you have been doing so for a while, you should not really exprtience a problem applying to visit family in the UK. Obviously you have to meet other criterion such as finance. I assume you will keep your property in Thailand to return to afterwards; and I doubt that you have your partner working in a bar :D

Use the reason that you want to show off your new addition, together with a wedding invitation or something similar for all of you, and you'll fly through.

Jim, I've sent a pm with the details, the refusal info will need to be provided by Big Boy.

I wish I could post the link here! Its a UK based forum mainly for UK/Thai relationships. I know quite a few look on here/are members and on my recent trip I had provisional plans to meet up with no less than 3 members planning to be in town at the same time as me.

I have regularly posted links from here on the forum - maybe the two sites could form a mutual masturbation society (that's a joke)! But you know what I mean.

Cheers Big Boy, we're not living together as yet unfortunately, Im still a part timer at the minute (obviously something I want to change now we've got the Little'un) but we've been together for 3 years. Im only 27, her 21. Just an enquiry really, my prime concern is me getting out there permanantly. The folks can make the long journey to meet the new addition for the time being.

Providing you can prove that commitment together for 3 years (normally includes passport stamps, e-mails, letters, money transfers, phone calls, photos - date stamped would be better etc etc), and she has a home/job (unlikely apart from full time parent to 8 week old baby) - reason for returning to Thailand, then you should still be fine.

This may be the wrong forum for a news item, but it does show up some of the reasons that it can be so difficult to obtain a UK visa.

Police yesterday arrested a man and a woman suspected of being part of a gang involved in the trafficking of Thai women to brothels in England.

Pol Maj-Gen Wimol Pao-in, head of the Children, Juveniles and Women Division, said police, with assistance from the Social Development and Human Security Ministry, arrested Worapoj Pitayanukul, 60, and Pilaiporn Sathienthanakorn, 54, on charges of luring Thai women into prostitution in England.

Mr Worapoj was arrested at his house in Nonthaburi’s Bang Kruai district and Mrs Pilaiporn was taken into custody at her house in Bangkok’s Din Daeng district yesterday.

The arrests came after Pongpoj Pitayanukul, 31, and nine other people were caught in England on April 21 on charges of trafficking and procuring women for prostitution. Mr Pongpoj is Mr Worapoj’s son. Pol Maj-Gen Wimol said the gang had promised to secure decent jobs in England for the women.

The victims were told to change their surnames to Pilaiporn.

The gang then took them on a tour of Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries so they could get visa stamps from different countries in their passports to create a good impression and a reliable record of their travel before entering England.

Before leaving for England, the women were made to sign a loan agreement which landed them in a debt of about 700,000 baht each, Pol Maj-Gen Wimol said.

After arriving in England, the women were sold to a Malaysian agent who then took them to brothels in Plymouth, where they were forced to work as prostitutes.

British police uncovered the gang after one of the victims escaped and asked for their help, Pol Maj-Gen Wimol said.

The other members of the procurement gang are still at large.

They include Jirapa Srivicha, Pacharee Wongyai, a woman identified only as Joo, a man named Jack, and two men sharing the name of Mark from Britain and Malaysia.

Both Mr Worapoj and Mrs Pilaiporn denied the charges brought against them.

Mr Worapoj said he had sent his two sons, including Mr Pongpoj, to study in Britain. Later, his business ran into problems and his sons complained about not receiving money from him.

Mr Worapoj said he only knew that his sons worked for an advertising website and had no idea that they may be involved in the flesh trade.

He said he had visited them on several occasions but was not aware they may be connected to a human trafficking gang.

Mrs Pilaiporn said she had nothing to do with the alleged procurement and insisted she did not know Mr Worapoj.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
