It's Ferang run. Peter (snooker player with glasses) is fronting it. Quite good too.

Is that Willo, Jockey? If so my wife ran into him a couple of weeks ago and came back to say that the place was a bar. It sounds like him, in which case I'll pay a visit and give the fish and chips a try out.
I'd have been down there if it had only been a bar anyway

Aaaah - so Willo has been tracked down at last! I wish him well. The place IS bound to be more of a bar than an eatery, but he is a pretty good cook. Just keep him away from the telly and it should go well once the word gets around

Sampled the cod and chips last night, nice healthy portion of fish, mushy peas were spot on, the chips could do with being home made though and not your out-of-the-bag variety but you cant have everything! All in all I'd recommend it - not a bad feed.

Another plus point for me is that you can park there (its opposite Tira Tiraa condo) a factor that prevents me and the clan going to any restaurants in the center of town.

That's me out then. I'd already planned a visit, but if they're too lazy to peel a spud, what other corners are they cutting?

Don't be too hard on the ready prep'd chips! It can be tricky at first knowing how many spuds to buy in, and in that climate they don't keep too well. Then you can cut into them and find that they are'nt very good quality. At least with frozen chips the quality is consistent and they are always available.
It's getting the same here in England and I now only ever use Auntie Bessies! :thumb:

The chippie by the Chinese Temples always managed the real thing when my son used them last year. My daughter never has a spud quality problem when she buys them for me, and they also keep quite well.

I went there and Wilo made me chips using real tatties (at my request) delicious they were too. Ask for a real potatoes and he'll soon get the message.

However, I have to admit the guy who came in after me looked at my plate and said "Hey Wilo, can I have crinkle cut spud?"

How far is this place from the center of Hua Hin (The Clock)

Is it within walking distance ???

Is it before you'd cross the railway line.

Will be in Hua Hin on Thursday next.

yeah, if youre coming from petchakasem road, going towards the main train crossing (soi 70), you turn right before the crossing, but youre almost on the track if you like. walk along those small units that back onto the track and its about a 100 yards down on your left

been there, great fish and chips imo
had never met peter before, although seen him around town. really friendly chatty bloke, plus you can have a beer while you wait
i'll certainly be going back for more

bigboy, he said he was the one who set that place up and was 'one' of the people who used to run it, so should be same same if you ask for the homemade chips as jockey did

Right - so Willo's place is down towards the old bus station then?
The way things are going on the 'real chip front' he's gonna have wrinkly fingers and be regretting the whole thing!
Seriously though - he's a dab hand at pickling as well, so start asking for onions. Then duck and run! :guns:
