The Picture it painted of Pattaya, has put me off even wanting to visit the place.
If Hua Hin and surrounding areas is starting to suffer, then luckily less tourists will come less europeans will want to live here etc etc.
I dont even think Pattaya was featured in the programme "the fake trade"
Chatuchak may have been shown for about 30 seconds, the programme was filmed mainly in China.
Are you suggesting Tourists will be put off coming to Asia because the BBC ran a programme on fake goods?
I totally agree with pfotoguy369 and be sure that in this case the thief
was already in the house! is your wife a thai and she perhaps needed
money for their brothers school books or dads hospital invoice?
The remark about a Thai stealing the money perhaps "his relative needed cash towards the air fare" That remark is based on the fact I have the same knowledge as you in this thread. You should not make accusations or suggestions unless you are sure of the facts. That remark also shows a big distrust oF Thais like all races there are good and bad do not paint everybody with the same brush.
Daywalker you really should read the story before sprouting your mouth off like that!
HHTEL did say that the police found that a window had been forced!
Anyway if his wife did need some money for the family kids schoolbooks I am sure she could have discussed the matter before stealing money FROM HER OWN PURSE!
Day walker, it would be very inexperienced wife of any nationality that would resort to that kind of trick to get money! Perhaps you have experience of a different type of woman to have such a jaundiced view.
If my wife needed money for the family then it's the same family I have. She is an only daughter - no brothers, sisters, known cousins etc, just her mother who is quite well heeled already. Money for my kids (the only kids in the family) would and is supplied by me.
The only people in the house were me and my wife (in the same bed), my two kids (7 and 10), and my 82 year old mother (English).
The window had been forced from the outside, a dirty great footprint on the back of one of the sofas, and wall spikes that were bent when used by whoever to climb over the wall.
My wife has become so scared that she now keeps a box of firecrackers and a lighter on our bedroom window ledge along with rocks for throwing and various other 'weapons'.
Please keep the unfounded inferences to yourselves.
Sad to say it was Thailand and Pattaya was mentioned as a dangerous place, lots of bad business. That is what I took out of it.
Will people be put off, well it worked for me, but then I have a friend who stays there.. seems to like it .
Will people be put off going to GOA , that has received some bad press, who knows......But if constant bad press comes out then of course it won`t help.Unless one sees it as opportunity ..Drugs ,Sex and Fake goods
quite a mix. Anyway one persons downside is anothers upside !
Me oh my, what a total balloon you are Daywalker. In fact they should throw you off the forums. How dare you pass such comments about someones wife simply because she is Thai. My wife is Thai as well and in more than eight years of marriage, she has never, not even once, given me any reason not to trust her. If she has ever needed money then she knows only too well that its her money as well as mine because after all, we are married with kids. She is also a lot more responsible with the cash than I am. Now she also has a good well paying job and nothing has changed at al, meaning the money she earns is my money as well. I think, from your comments, its pretty obvious what sort of women you've been involved with.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
Day walker you are a plonker. You did not read the thread. You accused innocent people of theft. When comments are passed about what an idiot you are you insult them, when an apology would have been in order.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.
