COMEDY NIGHT - 19th MARCH 2008
HUA HIN WILL HAVE ITS FIRST COMEDY NIGHT ON MARCH 19TH, I HAVE SEEN THIS SHOW IN BANGKOK AND IT REALLY IS FANTASTIC. HERE IS THE WEBSITE - WWW.PUNCHLINECOMEDY.COM

Good call JW .
About time we had something better than moustache sporting birds running at 30% over their fighting weight and 10 years past their sell by date in that part of town to look forward to of an evening .
Hope you are going to include a few delicious chilli nachos and some prawn vol u vents in the ticket price though ?

Yes, I’ve read it about five times as well! Actually I could stay in Hua Hin until after that so if it sounds promising I might go along.
I’m not sure what the other half will think of it, I went to a comedy night here once and I had to spend the evening translating the jokes from Jock and Geordie into English for the rest of the customers.

Before I say anything, let me just say that I'm not a prude and I've been to enough rugby club do's to know all the words banned by the BBC.
JW: Are the comediens funny without being crude? What I mean is do they use the 'f' word in every sentence, and is the humour from the hong naam? If so, it's not our style.
Parahandy and I would love a night out in Hua Hin with some good comedy (Fast Show style). If the trio comes up with some decent humour then we'd go for a couple of tickets.
If you could just confirm the 'style' we'd appreciate it.
Oh, god, I sound like Mary Whitehouse

These are really clever comics, its not Chubby Brown or Bernard Manning style stuff. All 3 can be seen on youtube. They are top line comics - Jim Tavare has entertained the Queen! I would love to see comics like this come to Hua Hin every few months - we have nothing like this in town so lets make it happen.
The last time i saw the show in Bkk was a awesome night. My face was hurting after the show , it really was so funny.
I would go as far as to say that if someone buys a ticket and doesn't laugh i will refund the ticket cost myself.

I've seen Jim Tavare in the UK and can confirm what JW says; no doubt the odd expletive will be uttered but the humour is not based on that, it really is genuinely funny stuff, delivered in his own unique style. I want to go but my wife (Thai) will completely miss all the humour! Maybe i will organise something for her to do that night...

was it funny?
I am surprised that not one person wrote a review of that comedy show? Was it that uninspiring?

Is that it??
I suppose what I really want to know is if there'll be a next one, and why it'll be worth going to.
No offense, crazy, but given the pre-publicity it had, and the novelty of such an event in HH, I think it deserves a bit more detail!

This is the way

In my opinion,
Jim Tavare. A bit old hat, boring, still does the same old stuff from 17 or so years ago. If you?ve never seen him, you may be amused, slightly. Slap stick ish. Went to see him at Jongleurs in Battersea all that time ago, it was as if we had gone back in time, same same, but not different.
Wayne Deakin was the man on the night, in my opinion very funny indeed. I would say go see him if you get the chance.
Zoe Lyons. Well, I felt embarrassed for her. Not funny at all. Really, I thought she was ccrap.
The event itself, well worth it!!
Would I go again? For sure!!
