Getting this one back onto the topic of cost of living, does anyone happen to know what the average Thai salary is in Hua Hin? I've been told its around 6-7000 baht.

Would be interesting to get a list of occupations and average salaries.

Hi Buksida, read recently whilst in BKK that average salary in Thailand is 13500 baht. Sorry cannot be more specific re HH. Both brothers in law earn less than 10000 baht, one with a recent degree albeit with no relevant experience. Rgds.

I've been told it's 200 bhat day for labourours, security guards etc.Not sure paying security that little is a good idea.

As for my cost of living its through the roof with the pound so weak. Still wouldn't call it expensive here though.

We have two employees. One gets 7000 baht per month for about six hours work a day, 5 days per week and the other gets 6000 per month for about 5 hours a day, 5 days per week. We give them most of the major holidays off and a bonus (around 1000 baht) at New Year if they have done generally good work and haven't been a pain in the ass.

If You pay peanuts you get ???....

Hell of a lot of threads on this forum have resulted from frustrations of people doing exactly the above .

You are quite right Sarge.
It's about time we lock this thread I suppose.
