getting back to the orginal,I went to this bar last night class,very americanwith loads of big leather chairs,they had a great 5 peice playing including a violin.Alas myself an the misses were the only ones there but she loved it-sittning on her throne with a voilin player playing yesterday at her knees.The only downside was when we got our bill it had the 7 & 10 % on it,we only had beer I don't understand why business do not include it in the menu price ok it will cost more but everyone leaves happy.Singha draft 85 ++.Will be back again.

"Living Next Door to Alice" is a song co-written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. Originally released by the Australian vocal harmony trio New World in 1972, the song charted at # 35 on the Australian chart.

In November 1976, the English glam rock band Smokie released their version of the song, which charted at # 5 on the UK chart and # 53 on the US chart. It spawned a more risqué version in 1995 by the Dutch band Gompie, titled "Alice, Who the Fuck is Alice?". In turn, Smokie collaborated on a similar version later that year with comedian Roy 'Chubby' Brown, reaching # 3 on the UK chart.

Yeah that info is right, except that Smokie were never a glam rock band! I would have classified them as simply pop or pop rock really. I didn't know that that song was written by Chinn and Chapman, who were extraordinarily successful songwriters in the 70's, as they wrote most of the hits for the Sweet, Mud, Suzi Quatro and Racey among others. They also wrote 'Mickey' by Toni Basil, and Chapman produced the massive albums 'Parallel Lines' by Blondie and 'Get the Knack' by The Knack.

Back to the subject matter, I was over in early Feb this year and had the oportunity to visit the StoneHead.. was suitably impressed ! Took my BG friend there too, staff were courteous and polite (even to her). The Mai-Thai cocktail she had was yummy (apparently). Nicely fitted out bar, loved the big leather chairs...even went back there a number of times.

Was also surprised the in-house Philippino band new some stuff from Van Morrison too !!

In short highly recommended.

I popped in there last night for the first time with my wife...

Ordered a vodka red bull , which they didnt have. So then a jack coke , which came in a half pint glass... Played pool , at 20baht a game , on an old worn 9 ball table , with not enough room at the sides, and a big slope in the corners. We then sat and listened to the band absolutely murder a couple of Sinata songs , before getting the bill .
430 bht for a red wine , J coke , and 100 bht for pool table . 7% VAT stated. The bill was wrong and 10% was added. The staff said this was because the computer was wrong ?
Terrible place.
