hi just new to HHAD quick intoduction. living in Samui 7 years sick of the place thinking of moving to hua Hin. any particulary areas where might get decent house for upto 15 k per month. do not want condo, coming up for a week in Jan for a look araound i was thinking about khao takiab. i ahve a car and bike so travel no problem if out HH.
be interested in good things and bad about HH although i have been readin net alot the last few weeks getting a decent house is my main concern

Ive met loads of People in Samui
including the Wife! (who managed a Internet shop there)
and i considered moving there... But then we stayed in HH
for about a week....and my minds set....
Still love to Pop to Samui to have a weekend seeing
everyone....Interest to know whats made you sick of it
Mind from the first time i went till the last ( a 5 year period)
i noticed huge changes every year....
While im on line.......... Happy Xmas every one and all the Best

Samui
the state of the roads is appalling, the traffic is really bad with traffic jams of 3-4 miles long common. the amount of dust on the road is terrible i have given up with the bike as you get covered in dirt. prices on every thing are through the roof, mainly bangkok Airways. i just fancy the mainland but i do love the Samui night life and worry a little about HH as everbody says it is quite but from what i read there is enough beer bar action to keep me happy
Rammie, was in Samui last year and will agree with you regarding nightlife.
In Samui you have a fair few larger and more modern bars/clubs etc but have been to Hua Hin for the last 2/3 years and can tell you that there is no problem in enjoying what the nightlife of Hua Hin has to offer.
The beauty of it it is more or less all in one area, so if you do not like the bar you are in you can soon retire to the one next door and so on.
You do not have places along the size of Coco Blues or the Mango, most of the places are on the smaller size scale but still very good to socialise in.
You will be in an enviable postion of being able to spend some quieter times in Hua Hin but also have the choice of visiting BKK or Samui for some wild weekends away.
By the way did you frequent Tropical Murphy's while in Samui, if anyone visits the island and wants to see some good local live music, they have bands on upstairs nearly every night. Is in the the main street next to the Baan Samui resort.

used to go into Murphy's quite a lot when it first opened 6 years ago but not been in recently, problem is with bands in tourist area is they get a bit same same after you seen them a few times.
i have a missus of 6 years but still like a bit of sanuk, would love to be able to access the adult section so i can get a real feel for the night life. still this is my 3rd post so 10% of the way there.
will come upto HH in early jan and spend a week or so there, main problem is i rent a great house here but enough is enough with the traffic and building not to mention problems getting to BKK and the bloody robbing airline we have here. now 4400 baht one way to BKK
