Please do, hope to see you on Saturday if you're still in Hua Hin.

I log on for the first in a couple of weeks and this terrible news hits me - a thoroughly nice guy - what else is there to say?

I have just returned from Thailand and Met with Richard who told me about Dave.

He will be sadly missed and although I have not been active on this forum for quite some time, I felt that I needed to pay my respects.

Sincere condolences to his family and friends .

We have just returned from Dave’s memorial service and I would just like to say thank you to Dave’s family for their hospitality.

I was touched by how many attended today. Dave was a well liked and a very popular person, he will be sorely missed by many people.

My thanks and thoughts are with Dave’s family.

Hi everybody, this is the first time i have been able to sit down and write on here since Davids memorial service, can i thank on behalf of his mum and the rest of his family all those that attended the service for their kind words, we had a collection on the day which raised £240 for The MS Society, thank you to all who contributed, the service and afterwards were realy nice and it gave the other members of Davids family a chance to say their goodbyes to him,it goes without saying that there is a part of our lives missing but we now can start to move on and remember him the way he would have wanted to.
Once again thank you all for your kind thoughts and messages.

I can only imagine what a great service it was - hope you all had a great night. Goes without saying that we all miss Dave, he will be remembered anytime a scooter flashes by or some groovy music fires up.

To all,
I think I met Dave once in person, at a HHAD party. I may be wrong, as I was only at the gathering for a smattering of minutes. I don't post terribly often on the forum, but read often, and in that regard, Dave was no stranger to me. His posts were helpful and insightful, especially as I often asked for information about Hua Hin while not currently residing there. He will be sorely missed.

I just read his obit in the Observer....never realised he was the Scooter man.

I hope he is riding with the angels in that big Brighton in the sky, and spinning some disks in the next places Wigan Pier.

He sounds like he was a great bloke....its a damn shame.

The One Hundred Day Anniversary has already come around.

This is a Thai Bhuddist tradition, and involves feeding the monks at the Temple, followed by a blessing ceremony and a party afterwards.

This will take place at the Temple where Oe has placed the Soul Monsta's ashes.

The details are as follows.

The ceremony is on Sunday 17th February and starts early, 7.30am. Food will be prepared to feed the monks. This will be followed by a blessing ceremony for the life of Dr. Dave. This will take about one and a half to two hours, if you would like to come along later (10.00am) you can join us in lighting candles and offering flowers at his graveside and see where his final resting place in Thailand is.

Not to sure of the timing for the second part yet, but I will let you know soonest. In the afternoon, we are hoping, (if enough of you respond) to hold a get together on the Beach at Kho Tabiab, behind Blue Wave. Those that have been to HHAD Beach Happenings before will know the place. We will try to arrange some food, there are plenty of places offering drink for sale, and this can go on all afternoon, evening, or into the night, up to you, probably until the last person leaves.

Sorry to be a bit vague over all this, but the final details of the ceremony have only just been sorted out. I will update you all on the party as we arrange more events.

The Temple where Dave's ashes lay is called Wat Khao Ton Gate. it is on the G Supermarket Road, it's up the hill, almost at the end of the road, just as the road bends to the left sharply, the entrance is in front of you, but still a right turn. This is the second Temple complex on this road.

It's the Temple in the middle of 9C on this map.

If you can attend either of the above events, please leave a message and let us know.

Can't possibly be there at 7:30 - mutts & littl'un, but I'll try my hardest to be there at 10 am
