counting down the days.....

Post by Bushido »

i am sat at work freezing my ass off waiting for the 11th Dec when i finally fly out to good old Hua Hin for a month - CAN'T WAIT!

Need the sun and am looking forward to pigging out on delicious thai food and drinking cocktails .....

its the first time we're coming over xmas and new year so just wanted to know does everywhere get packed in Hua Hin Christmas day and New Years Eve i.e. are all the restaurants packed or will we be able to walk in most places and get a table (i don't mean hotels or posh restuarants just the run of the mill places)

cheers!

I fly out on the 12th for 7 weeks. :thumb:

Yes Hua Hin is packed in December and you may have to bide your time for a table in some of the more popular "run of the mill" places.

I dont normally eat until about 9 for my evening meal and most places tend to have a few tables by then.

You will have a great time - plenty of people around, but always plenty of great places to eat!

See you soon.

Seems to be true!
I read in a newspaper that the government really announced Xmas as an official holiday, because of the election at this time.
It could be a sad day again for fun-seeking tourists and bar-owners, if everything is closed down as usual in this country on "special days".

I believe the 24th is the Public Holiday.
I have to buy a house full of furniture (very basic) on that day so I hope the big shops are open. If not I will have to find a hotel room.
I too am counting the days to our first xmas in Thailand and our first stay in the house.

It'll definitely be jam packed where ever you go, was down in Takiab this morning at the beach near Anantasila and wave after wave of tourist filled tuk tuks and trucks started rocking up and scrambling for seats (at 9am).

Dunno how they can wear next to nothing on the beach there though ... its bloody freezin!

I suppose that the big shops are opened...same as restaurants.
Normally just bars & pubs have to close and/or it's forbidden to drink alcohol on public places.
So your coming shopping-tour should work! ... lol
