Post by bj.blackowitz »

Ive planned to stay a few days in HH mid November, Now my normal Hotel is not available during this perios and have been thinking about a Guesthouse

can anyone shed his light on Jings Guesthouse ? I 've seen the GH ' site etc, but how about noise ? I might have a GTG from BKK with me , would she be ashamed to live there for a few days ?

any feedback welcome.

bj,

a couple of friends on mine stayed there earlier this year and were very pleased with what they got. The only 'not so good' comment was that the rooms could have been a little larger.

indeed peter does a good job there, the (larger type) room was big enough for me,
a few minor adjustments would make it my prefered stay:
1: let the fridge run regardless of key
2: a little more water from the showers
3: permanent (wireless) internet access ( to be done afik)

the room was clean, quiet and well taken care off, the room itself non smoking, but a sig on the balcony was possible.
even when on soi selakam, it was quiet, therefor a great location if youlike to party at night without taxi hassels.

Sounds like a good place. Forgive the ignorant newbie to the forum but I need a place with somewhere to park a Sportrider. Do they have parking or can anyone suggest somewhere in the same area with parking available?

there is safe parking for motorbikes and scooters in the small courtyard infont of the room blocks,
its set back and out of site from the road, but its not big enough to drive a car up there.

Hi bj.b

Thanks for your input!

Ref point 1. above: Scuse me for asking but what do you mean by - "let the fridge run regardless of key"?

You also mention the 'larger room' was big enough for you - may I ask if that was one of their rooms they call a "New Suite"? (some new rooms which I beleive was a recent extension?)

Are all the rooms non smoking rooms?

I ask because I'll be staying at Jing's next week .....

Thanks again for your assistance and thoughts! :thumb:

bradders,
I think bjb means that the electricity in the room is turned on and off by inserting/removing the (normally huge!) fob attached to the room key into a slot just inside the room. I normally either find something else or detach the fob to keep the fridge running though...

I had the room at the end of the hallway (top left)
the owner said something about Getting Wifi
If I stay there again ( probably in august) I will take a wifi AO with me just to be sure ( with ER antenna)
The rooms are nice, price: ask them, I guess about 700/night

non smoking, but the terrace was ok for me to smoke.
