When we next visit i am looking to buy some material to make curtains for my lounge and bedroom back in the UK. I know i can get silk etc from the night market etc but i am looking to find a material shop/ stall that sells thicker material in large enough quantities.... any ideas?
Theres a couple of material shops in the day market not sure if they sell thick enough material to make curtains also there are now a few curtain and blind shops dotted around Hua Hin one is opposite the tesco express who may be able to help, if they dont then pratunam market in Bangkok sells all things including material, wholesale.
Up to the top of the night market, along that road thereto the right are a few shops. We have had seat cushions covers made there - good job. If interested messsage me and I will look for more detailed directions. Quite a few shops around but maybe need Thai to get right prices. Otherwise, Homepro, Index sell ready made but I think the prices maybe a bit steep
thats great thanks for the suggestions, i would prefer material to ready made curtains just due to ease of brining them back to the UK. I will be going to Bangkok so will definitely take a nosy there too.
When you go to Bangkok, get directions and go to Chinatown to the material market......plan to be there all day and you should go home happy with all the material you want.
I've just come back from robbing another bank (ie ATM) and noticed a sign saying "curtains". Popped in and here are their details:
Rin Curtain
20/17, Petchkasem Road
Tel 032 511 669
m: 081 0158923
The young Thai chap I spoke to seemed to have good English, AND he gave me some brochures that give you 20% discount. I want a cut - only joking.
They're easy to find. Go to the 7-11 at Somtawin school and walk back (south) about 100 mts. There's a sign in English saying "curtain".
Hope that helps - I can't vouch for their professionalism. I saw the place by chance.

I am glad you got an address. I found a good one as well. I asked if they could give the address. With a perplexed look he replied "here". I told him that I needed the address and contact details to pass on to someone else. He said to "Don't worry about that it's immaterial".
