HELLO I HAVE ASKED BEFORE BUT NO REPLY <CAN I BRING IN A MOTERCAR WITH MY HOUSHOLD AFFECTS <IF NOT WHAT WILL BE THE DUTY ? ANY INFO PLEASE

Duty would be huge, sell the car and buy one here, the import tax makes it crazy expensive. i think its something silly like 400% tax. Hopefully someone has more concrete advice for you.

I agree with JW, but don't know any more about it than he does (which is probably why nobody responded before). It shouldn't be too difficult to research...

depending on the age of the vehicle and amount of years owned
you could be still looking at 200% of its market or insurance value plus other taxes and tariffs..

Thanks for the advice guys,looks like its a no go ,i now must decide where to live hua hin chaiang mai or udon , thanks again

A little to the side of this topic, but I remember reading once that Thai citizens who are moving back to Thailand do not have to pay some, or all, of the taxes.

While I don't believe it applies to the OP, I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this.

This is true for Thais re-patriating to Thailand. However, I am sure that there are still upper limits before duty will apply. When my daughter was re-patriating, we simply contacted the local Thai Embassy who were more than helpful in providing the detail we needed.
