If nothing else, Cambodia is persistent.

Thailand initiates operation “Trat Pikhat Pairee 1” following Cambodia’s border assault, deploying forces to defend sovereignty and respond to new clashes in Trat.

On July 26, clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces along the border entered their third day, as Cambodian troops expanded their attack zone to the area of Ban Chamrak, Trat Province, at 05:10 AM. In response, the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command launched a counteroffensive.

The Royal Thai Navy then initiated operation "Trat Pikhat Pairee 1" (Trat’s Elimination of Enemies) to drive back the Cambodian forces who had encroached on three points along the Thai border. By 05:40 AM, Thai naval forces succeeded in pushing Cambodian forces back.

On Friday, the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command declared martial law across eight districts in both provinces, effective immediately, to safeguard the nation against external threats. The Cambodian forces had reportedly used force and weapons to invade Thai territory along the border.

The martial law applies to the following districts:

1. Chanthaburi Province: Mueang Chanthaburi, Tha Mai, Makham, Laem Sing, Kaeng Hang Maew, Na Yai Am, and Khao Khitchakut.

2. Trat Province: Khao Saming.

Additionally, the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command issued a notice closing all border crossing points along the Thai-Cambodian border, both by land and sea, as part of enhanced security measures to preserve sovereignty.

The following restrictions are now in place:

No vehicles are allowed to cross the border in either direction.
The movement of people, including for trade and tourism, is prohibited.
All maritime traffic within Thai waters under the responsibility of the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command is also halted.

These measures are intended to strengthen the security of the border and maintain Thailand’s territorial integrity.

This will negatively affect expats living in BKK who need to do 'visa runs'.

Of course there are other options but none as close as the Cambodian border.

This is potentially a major escalation by the Cambodian side, and as the weapons can not be aimed at specific targets, it will put a lot more of Thailand out of bounds.

Per reports they have 3 (your article says 6), Who knows with the flying news reports these days. One has been destroyed already at the border.

Everything I've read until now has said 6, but as you say - there is a lot of fake news around at the moment. I too had read that 1 system had alreay been destroyed, but it has been heavily denied.

At the end of the day, just 1, combined with the Cambodian's inability to aim anything, it is quite worrying.

Well, the same has been reported across the relative News Agencies since early this morning (UK Time). Trump has done nothing, aside from threatening "Zero negotiations on Tariffs" until a ceasefire/talks/blah-blah. Perhaps a good thing as money (and supposed power) is King with those concerned.

It's turned into the absurd now. Cambodia embassy somewhere in Europe (Bulgaria) putting on FB that the Thais dropped poison gas from a plane. Accompanying is a photo of a forest fire tanker dropping chemicals on a fire in the USA. Unbelievable. To make it worse, the Cambodian gov spokesperson repeated the story from Phnom Penh. These people are bloody insane! :banghead:
