At the end of the day, good links for HH Airport to the likes of Bangkok, Chiang-Mai, Phuket and possibly further afield would be great for you guys living there and others visiting to avoid the crazy drive (4+ hrs) drive to BKK alone, but wouldn't they also add to the chaos in HH (high rental, traffic, higher numbers of tourists (both foreign and Thai))?

An influx of Chinese is not what you want, be it tourism or otherwise. Would even the traffic between HH and Bangkok be effected (the Hi-Sos need to show off cars and wealth)?

Definitely correct that the better the transport links, the greater the risk of much higher tourist numbers. If they’re arriving by air then it might not have a significant impact on the vehicle congestion so maybe not such a big concern, but it would be nice to have the option!!

A maximum of 8 or 12 passengers at a time isn't going to make a huge difference

I think PHarveys and my quotes were related to the increase in flights that at the moment nobody is offering and won’t unless/until the current facilities at HH Airport get upgraded. A 12 seat Cessna will be like the old lady p******* in the sea!!
