'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

I've been bringing a printed map for as many years as I can remember, but the last couple of years they haven't requested it.

Retirement extension today, in and out in 15 minutes Btw, map was by hand drawing (but after Google maps using a drawing board )
But where is everyone, I did the extension a week before my usual date and when I then normally have to wait at least half an hour before I'm sat down with IO but there was no queue either down star or up in main office. However, I was reasonably early out today and sat down upstairs 0915 and got my passport back 0930. No question about tax receipts or "home visits" for retirement visa which I have heard is now practice at CW!

The advantages of renewing in low season. Try going in November, you cant even get a seat in there.

Also, regarding tax, you won't be asked until next year's renewal if the video in the Tax thread is correct.

What is CW? Are they doing home visits for retirement extensions? I've nothing to hide, but it seems to be creating an awfully big task for Immigration Officers. Do they have the resource.

Really? That must be a huge job doing home visits. Do they have to wait for the home visit before having their visa issued?

An extract from an email of a friend of mine who like me uses the Cha Am immigration office,

“Our visas are all done for the next year. The only change this time, was that a handdrawn map of where we live was required. Last Monday, three Immigration police arrived here checking that we really do live here - complete with taking photos of us standing at the door.”

So the visas get issued as normal but you will/might get a subsequent visit!!

Fair enough, if they have the resources. As I said, I have nothing to hide, and was actually hoping for a home visit this year because I'm still housebound.
