Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin

Even our local mom n' pop store (which is usually lenient) said nothing until Saturday, so the BIB must have been doing the rounds and waving their nightsticks.

Not really relevant, its about bars in Bangkok opening for a holiday in May.

We're in Hua Hin and its July.

I need to de-synch my work schedule from Thai alcohol bans because this is the second time now this year that I've arrived in Thailand for one.
I've never really understood this idea of having holidays that you're not allowed to enjoy.

You can enjoy, just plan ahead, and buy in advance. I rarely drink, but checked my stocks yesterday, and topped up accordingly.

Nobody is preventing anyone to enjoy holidays!!!

I appreciate where you are coming from. I'm not one for drinking at home (never have been, even when I was a drinker). I was caught out a few times when visiting on holiday. What is usually an active bar scene becomes deserted. Hua Hin looks completely different when bars are closed.

I guess for some people, they can only enjoy socialising with a beer/wine etc in their hand - I’m not one of them!!

^If I go to a bar, I meet people from all over and generally have a good time. I don't know anywhere else that you can really do that, if I go to a restaurant or coffee shop, I find I'm just sat by myself if my partner is at work.

Maybe I’m the odd one out, but even in the days when I frequented bars, I never made a habit of talking to strangers, I either went with someone or arranged to meet up with friends.

I think it's technically illegal to sell beer on the beach anyway, so they don't take much notice of any other bans.
