Re: Bolt and Grab ride hailing apps

Had my first issue with Bolt today.

I booked a ride earlier on this morning. And when I booked it, they gave a price range for local taxis in Bkk and the range stated was 55 to 88 baht. They do give fixed prices for other private cars but these usually take longer to get to you than local taxis which are much closer and available.

So I just booked it on the basis that it would be within that price range. However, after the journey I noticed that the fare was 132 baht. Plus on top of that they charged me a booking fee of 20 Baht which I had never had before.

So I complained on the support tab on the app and within 3 seconds of me complaining I had a reply saying that I could either take the matter further or accept a reduction of 77 baht. I accepted the reduction because it would basically bring the fare down to what it should have been in the first place.

So good service and response from customer support, but then again it shouldn't really have happened in the first place.

I will continue to use them as they're effecient, well priced and fair in the event of an issue.
