Locations that serve a "good" American / English breakfast.

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

The Picanha Steak looks a bargain too:

Hell, I've been looking through what they have on offer - IMHO too good to be true.

You could be right - I think its the shading on the furtherest sausage. However, I was most likely influenced by this great sausage offer, followed by auto-suggestion (and maybe a few false thunderclaps):

Well, the breakfast offer will get me to go there, despite my disappointment that there are at least 3 items that I used to buy in Gourmet that I can no longer buy in big C marche.

Tried the bangers & mash there today. 3 beef sausages, gravy, peas and mashed potato. Made from powder but not bad, plenty of butter. It was only about 150 Baht so a good price. Only problem that the kitchen took about 45 minutes to prepare it. My wife had mussels in cream sauce with french fries. Also very good and only 199 Baht. I'll certainly return.

45 minutes is bordering on unacceptable and a free meal!

I'm glad of your report. I think I'll ask for the breakfast and if they can't cook it in 20 mins then I won't bother

Thanks

I was there yesterday and they were just setting everything up, so today (oops yesterday - 31) must have been their first day of operation. I wouldn't judge them too harshly based on that.

We tried the Big C Marche breakfast today.

First impressions were 'nowhere to sit i.e. 4 x 6 place tables with 1 of those tables filled with people working on their laptops, and 1 x 4 place table, with 2 people sitting.

We managed to squeeze 3 of us in on 1 table, and we were handed a menu. We'd already decided we were all going to try the breakfast, so ordering was easy - we only had to decide upon how we wanted our eggs cooked - all opted for scrambled.

There were no drinks included, so we turned to the drinks page, and we had a choice of 3 kinds of water, 3 kinds of coke or 3 kinds of Devil's brew (tea) - yuk. There was a wine list as well. It was then wait. Breakfast without coffee

There were plenty of waiting staff - about 5 to wait on 28 places. Quite a large kitchen area, again well staffed.

Service was still quite slow, with one lady on our table waiting well in excess of 45 minutes for her salmon.

We were given a 2 minute warning that our food was about to arrive. About 1 minute later, the server came back apologising because they'd put fried eggs on our plates. I explained that they didn't have to be sorry, just take the fried eggs off and replace them with scrambled.

Of course, it wasn't the expected response, and caused a further delay.

After 40 minutes, our breakfasts were served - only 2 slices of bacon (publicity photo clearly shows 4, but outside of that, the breakfast looked just like the publicity photo above.

The sausages were huge, albeit, a little cold. Initially, we all said not a bad effort, but by the time we'd finished it had been quite a flavourless struggle. To our tastebuds, it wasn't a great breakfast. However, we'd all had plenty to eat.

When the bill came (had to be paid at a supermarket checkout), we tried to explain they hadn't charged us enough for the breakfasts, and the drinks hadn't been included. They apologised, and explained there was a problem with the computer. The bill they'd given us was as close as it was going to get - 51฿ short. It seems a strange way to run a business, but hey ho.

I doubt we'll be going back there again for breakfast, but other people may really like it.

Not if it's a 40 minute wait...definitely not for my patience levels.
