Yes this last week or so we've had many dark skies but very little (if any) rain.

Was planning a ride today, then took a look at the satellite map ... bad idea!

While looking for Thailand weather satellites, I found this site which looks pretty good: https://zoom.earth/maps/satellite/#view ... 9.93853,8z

The Northeast monsoon winds are all but finished, and weather shifting now from the Southwest. India is predicting an early start for the monsoon. Looks as if we'll be plenty wet here coming up.

"The southwest monsoon system is expected to advance into the south Andaman Sea, some parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar islands around May 13, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday (May 6, 2025).

This is nearly a week earlier than the normal onset date of May 20 and “relatively unusual”, a senior meteorologist told The Hindu."

I did hear a rumble of thunder about 45 minutes ago, so that is probably Hua Hin's share of the bad weather.

Hi :thumb:

I didn't want to "jinx" it by posting earlier ...... but happy to say that here, around Palm Hills, I never saw a single drop of rain all day!!!! :D

I also managed to enjoy my customary beer on the beach, at a location between here and Cha-Am :D

Now if it wants to pour down overnight, carry on!!!

Don’t know how widespread it is, but we’ve been having heavy rain with thunder and lightning for almost an hour where we live north west of Cha Am.
