Soi 94 resurfacing work
Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
It is a mess, with dozens of drivers ignoring the restrictions hourly. If you obey road signs, use your alternative route. If you've gone native, simply follow the sheep going the wrong way through a one-way system. Where are the BIB?

Thanks, I think...

And does not appear to be the case for the drainage/resurfacing work on Soi 94craighuahin wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 6:45 pm When the contracts were awarded I expected they would be obliged to report on progress regularly to the public which seems to be the case for rail works at least, including % completion breakdowns.

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
Well, what can I say? The no motor vehicles sign for vehicles travelling East down the section of Soi 94 that is being renovated have been removed. I drove down the renovated section earlier today.
I think the Tessebahn should be congratulated at downgrading that section of the road so badly, it actually makes the section of Soi 94 West of the renovation that resembles the surface of the Moon look like a nice section of road.
Only in Thailand can they spend 5 months destroying a road surface

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
Some 'progress' today. A mini digger was digging a trench for the drainage pipes on the same side as Ogen, Wonderland etc.

Progress? Absolute mayhem!! They started off by closing the road, but then they opened it, and that is when the fight started
If they were going to open the road, they needed some sort of traffic management.
Will this actually improve anything, or just downgrade the Ogen side of the road to be as bad as the other side of the road? Meanwhile, the other part of Soi 94 that perptually resembles the surface of the Moon remains a shambles.

Soi 94 closed again for traffic from outside Pizza Garden again heading towards the railway with proper barriers preventing cars at least going down between 9 am to 4 pm I think it is.
N.B. I didn't say progress in my previous post I said 'progress' with the punctuation hinting at sarcasm which I thought would be picked up.

Yes, I've just been that way - unusually, common sense seems to have prevailed.

OMG, they've actually started digging up the part of Soi 94 that resembled the surface of the moon at last........... let the absolute mayhem begin.
Plenty of roadsigns in place, but all being ignored.

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
Last week, they were closing Soi 94 when they were working. Of course, motorcyclists were finding a way through. This was after complaints and the Mayor said proper traffic control was needed.
We are now down to unofficial signs, which you barely notice (I was actually driving on Soi 94 this morning before the stupid little sign even registered - why don't they use proper signage?).
Does anybody actually know what this sign means, and is it official i.e. is it an offence to ignore it? If it is official, it's probably on the wrong side of the road to be noticed.

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
I guess I'm not the only stupid person on here. So nobody else understands Thai signage! Road signs are universal throughout the world - why do Thais have to know better, and do their own thing?
I've decided that the best way is to completely avoid the affected part of Soi 94 until the work has completed.

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
Well the sign is fairly obvious - being a no entry sign. If there isn’t one at the other end of the road it’s making it a one-way street.
Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work
You must be one of the clever ones then. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. If you are correct, I don't think there's one other person that understands the signage, and if they do, they are simply ignoring it. I think the bit that you are missing is also where the signs are located - they are total nonsense.

Although they’re normally mounted like the attached, the image is the same - no entry. As for where they’re located that’s a different thing altogether
