Mom's Station Review

Post by Don East Stand »

Hi, :thumb:

I mentioned last week a new Restaurant, Mom's Station, had opened close to Soi 2. Coming from Cha-Am, heading to town on the Canal Road. Go straight at traffic lights on Soi 2 and 100 metres on the left is Mom's Station. Mom previously owned Mom's Kitchen on Soi 6

It was great to see Mom greeting us, but perhaps even better, to see that her cook/chef from Soi 6 is working with her in the new place.

The restaurant itself is very fresh and clean. Mom even took Alison for a tour of the kitchen etc. which of course was spotless.

The restaurant has been tastefully decorated with a lot of flowers and pot plants creating a lovely ambiance. Peaceful and serene.

There is an indoor air conditioned area, or if you prefer, you can sit outside and watch the world go by. There are a couple of bar stools, at a little counter, where you can sit looking out, whilst enjoying a beer, coffee, or fruit smoothie.

The menu offers a large selection of Thai, and European food, with all the old favourites still there. Even if you don't see your particular favorite. Mom would happily prepare it for you.

I was genuinely surprised by the prices, as I thought she might have to increase them to cover initial outlay on the new premises, BUT many of the dishes are even CHEAPER than what she charged  previously!!

As for the main event i.e. food, we were both delighted with our dishes, even my large bottle of chilled beer went down very nicely and Alison certainly enjoyed her fruit smoothie.

It's not very often I check the bill to make sure they hadn't undercharged me, but for what we had, I was very pleased. Definitely on our new favourites list and we will certainly be back, and often!

I mentioned in Restaurant news that there is parking immediately prior to the restaurant.

They have free WIFI and are closed on Sundays.

Enjoy!!
