You are taxed on income. Savings are not income. She would need to prove that she is transferring savings. I did the Thai tax settlement in February and nothing new here in Hua Hin for me and I think my settlement is of little interest to yours as I follow the tax treaty with Thailand and my home country and have done so for a few years already. The only new thing was that the regional office has again started requiring documented travel activity in the previous year from Immigration when applying for a income taxpayment certificate and residence certificate. There has been a delay in that requirement for several years and previously it was enough to have a copy of the passport and mark out exits/entry and attach a self-declaration.
