This is becoming another annual bad news event like the Songkran road carnage or flooding.
Was up Hin Lek Fai for my run yesterday ... you couldn't see as far as Khao Takiap and could smell the smoke in the air ... maybe time to move back down south!
maybe time to move back down south! Thinking about it every day. Btw, you mention running in Hin lek Fai, is it a trail up there?

There are lots of trails up there, but not that healthy running when the AQ is that bad!
I don't actually "run" as running is known anymore and see it more as "slow jogging" but anyway trying to keep body going and with two arthritic knees I'm always looking for a place without asphalt surface. Are these trails in Hin lek Fai just uphill and back down or is the terrain a bit more varied?
Thanks

There are two ways to the top from the Muay Thai camp, the westerly one is pretty steep but a good workout. There are a few varied terrain trails through the jungle on the westerly side, a few locals go up every day at about 4.30 so follow them.
