AP shop in Canal Rd closing

Post by PET »

I went there on Christmas Eve and was very surprised to see the owner packing away all the stock. He said business was down because of general price increases and he could not afford to stay open.

I used him quite a lot and in particular his Chicken Pies - sad that he did not have more support, names of VERY similar shops appreciated, thanks

I think the main shop these days is Nanys, across the road from Baan Khun Por.

Nany is certainly the best. I also use to use Hua Hin Ham & Bacon in Soi 41 but stopped many years ago when they started selling most of their own produce to supermarket chains and the stock in their own store became very poor. No idea what it's like now, previously they had a limited range of UK retail products but their own meats, pies etc. were very good when you could buy them.

HHH&B's own products are second to none in Thailand in my opinion, and their Christmas fayre is excellent. I have been a regular customer for nearly 13 years. Of course, it is all down to personal taste. It is unfortunate that their range of grocery products is no longer a feature of the shop. IMHO Nany's has taken over that role.

I've always found that ordering in advance ensures they always have what I want.
