I do find it funny that the forum's most hard-to-please bloke, proper moaner of life... turns into Gandhi during the tournaments.

Looking at you BB. 🤣

Poor, poor watch. Thoroughly disappointing. Nothing to comment on.

France go through.

This is an interesting game, as it's the first time we see another good team facing one of our group stage opponents. We managed a 0-0 against Slovenia, how will Portugal fair?

Well they were very stubborn taking Portugal to extra time and then a penalty shootout where Portuguese keeper Costa performed miracles by saving all three spot kicks.

Ironically Ronaldo was reduced to tears during the game when his penalty was saved, but came good during the penalty shootout.

It seems that the quality of the football played last night was a boost to England's hopes, if they continue to press forward and don't go back to playing in their own half for 80-90 pct of their possession. Let the defence do their own job, they are quite capable, and letting in a goal isn't counterproductive if you score two. Goals win games, correct?

According to oddschecker.com England are still the most favoured team to win the cup. The knockout matches are when it counts.

OMG how much do UEFA hate England? Its probably a report from the depths of the gutter press that I've just read https://thenewsportal24hr.com/dung2/uef ... CT0aDpL-qQ , but really? There's no smoke without fire.

The Slovak coach pushes Rice in the chest, so what do UEFA do? They hire a lip reader to check Rice's verbal response to being hit by the opposition's coach. No mention of action against aggressor. I'd love to know what the Slovak coach was saying whilst protesting to the ref - I'm sure his wording was perfectly PC. :?

Then they are investigating Bellingham's post goal celebration. I though DM was taking the P when he said his celebration was theatrical. If I'd scored that goal, I'd still be on cloud 9/celebrating now. They have decided his celebration included a crotch grabbing gesture. So what? What about some of the all-in wrestling physical abuse he'd been suffering every time he got near the ball for 90 minutes - that was really obscene. For that 1 second he was allowed to get away from the bullies and show his true skills - it is no wonder his celebration was OTT.

If there is any truth in this article, UEFA are becoming too PC for my liking. How many other goal celebrations have they monitored so closely? How many other times have they employed a lip reader to see what is being said on the football pitch? IMHO, if true, this is discrimination of the highest order, and UEFA should be taken to task over their actions.

Words I thought I'd never utter: I feel a bit sorry for Germany. I thought they deserved the equaliser and was quite happy to see the best team win extra time, but by the end, after all the Spanish antics, I was rooting for Deutschland.

Nah, couldn't feel sorry for Germany... :D

TBH though, I actually quite enjoyed the match - a little more exciting than certain teams have been :duck: . In my very "un-expertly" opinion, Spain deserved the win. I'm glad it didn't go to penalties....

It was a great match, notwithstanding some wild challenges, gamesmanship from both sides and at least 3 rugby tackles!

Must admit, the last one was a tad high even in Rugby terms!! Though, it seems only those of the "Round Ball Game" can be going through a near death experience before bouncing up to play on 30 seconds later - Hallelujah!! Amazing amount of Yellow Cards, I guess there's going to be a couple missing the Semi's?
