Plymouth have made a stadium that is fit for purpose with their league status. When the horseshoe of the stadium was designed, it was done in such a way that additional tiers could be added if their status required it. I don't think anybody could have imagined they would be selling out week after week in the 3rd tier of English football, and now at the lower end of the 2nd tier. I'm presuming somebody is working out the cost of adding an extra tier against gate receipts being lost. The club management really have their heads screwed on at the moment, and they certainly will want to be sure before making that investment. I've been inside an empty Home Park when it was 38,000 capacity - it is a lonely place. Those days could easily return. No point in jumping before you can walk. They almost went out of business when the Japanese sugar daddies

tried to move too far, too fast.
As for extra money from gate receipts, or course, every little helps, but it isn't the huge windfall many imagine. This link kind of explains how much clubs get
https://www.betpromo.uk/percentage-gate-receipts-away/ . However, a small club being drawn away to a big club isn't that much of an attraction, and gates will usually be down, and the big club will drop prices to encourage supporters.
They will make much more money if the game is televised live.
Plymouth being drawn away to a club like Leeds is about as bad as it gets. Leeds aren't exactly known for their pretty football. Yes, Plymouth stand a fair chance of success, but be sure there will be a few cards picked up, and maybe some injuries. This is a consolidation season for Plymouth in the Championship. They do not need to be faffing about in the FA Cup, picking suspensions and injuries. Enjoy the rest and hopefully survive to fight another season in the Championship. C'mon Leeds
