Accommodation close to the motorway going South

Is there anyone who sometimes drives South and can recommend a hotel/motel as close to the highway and preferably before/close to Surat Thani as possible. I am not very good at city navigation day or night and not very keen on a waisted trip inside Surat Thani itself so looking for something near the road. . Prioritizing cleanliness, quiet safe place to stay for a night.

Can only say that in October '22 on my way to Phuket I stayed at a decent place in Surat Thani town. Easy to navigate if you have Google Maps. Clean and quiet.

At Surat Thani easy to find
- The Marlin Hotel (spacious room, about 800 baht breakfast included) cheaper to book with booking. com
and opposite
-The Diamond Plaza Hotel (1000 baht /night breakfast included) you can book by phoning them 077277299
Nearby eateries, both have parking facilities

We've stayed at HillSide Boutique, clean and quiet, Not to far off of hwy #41. < 20 kms. There's a couple places over by the airport, I've thought about staying a couple times, but never did. There're set right off hwy # 41

If go to Hillside, there are restaurants right up the road next to, with nice overview of the valley below. Quite nice for a sunset dinner. We've dined at Baan Bon Khao - View Suai a few times. Easy to get to, up the hill, down the hill, no turns.

We may have stayed right along the hwy, Have to think about this, as been through that way so many times not sure if that area, or hwy before Chumphon.

Found another we stayed, this on the hwy#41, about 6 kms, below one of the turns into Surat Thani, about 8 or 10 kms below the airport.

The O Valley Boutique Hotel, and a strange place, as we stayed in the section that looks like a ship Clean quiet though, actually set back in a petrol station/shopping area.
