Yes, I could have, with no problem, but I knew the road leads to Soi 102, and if the tide was in up there, I was thinking Soi 102 must be the new Atlantis. What you didn't see was one of the scooters conked out just as he was beside me :D

Normally I'd have just carried on, and enjoyed it. but I saw the road going past Serene was OK, so it just made sense to take the main road. After that there was slight disruption at the end of Soi 112, but traffic was still flowing.

there was a daily summary of the rainfall total country wide that i rather enjoyed looking at
its now gone
as for HH just the usual forecasts predicting , yep, heavy rain until december 14 2025
does anyone actually in the department give a rats....
Agree 100%. Farcical

Check out the Daily weather summary

It reports the previous days rainfall and then that should be added to the cumulative total for the year to bring that up to date.

But the cumulative just stays the same! It's just wrong.....

Anyway, at least it's better than last week when for a week it reported that HH had had a cumulative total of 92mm of rain in 2022!

It also often says NO DATA when they actually do have the data

Anyway according to TMD we had 81mm in the 48 hours up to 07.00 today.

Yet again that figure seems light to me...

No sign of anymore rain in the next few hours so I guess my measurements for Hua Hin to date for October will stand! They total 349mm ( 14inches)

Tell that to those in the UK. "Winter has arrived here and the temperature has dropped into the 80's"

I'd be interested to research how many days in October we had very little or no rain.

In the end it felt like 10 days rain and 21 no rain

I'll check tomorrow but do your stats do that or do you just do totals?

Thanks

I know we're not in Hua Hin but I counted 4 full days in October down here when it didn't rain.

Although of course, it’s the intensity that is more important than the frequency (that’s what my wife says)!!

It was certainly the worst October rain I've known in Hua Hin in the 10 years we've lived here. We normally get a bad period of 2/3 days each year but the rest is the occasional shower. I think we had 3 prolonged periods this year.

My daughter is bemused about the obsession with minor details of the weather. Comparing millilitres is hardly exciting and not even interesting.
I'd be interested to research how many days in October we had very little or no rain.
Maybe we should produce a monthly chart split into days and further split into districts of HH. Members could fill in the blanks. What a great game to get excited about!

If it looks like rain, I'll take the necessary precaution. It can't get much simpler.
