'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
The immigration office is a good 6 kms from the border and their website says closed today (Labour Day) opening tomorrow 8:30.

Dansinkhorn. They do not do one year visa renewals but they seem to do quite a few things.
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Dansingkhon doesn't do very much beyond 90-day reports last time I checked. People were getting sent to Hua Hin for things like address letters and extensions.

Thank you to all those who responded to my query. As an aside I did obtain the certification of address papers from there . Naturally payment was required. This was a few months ago and things may have changed

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Boy oh boy, was I a lucky guy today.
My ‘O’ visa expires on the 17th, so I decided to go and get it all done today. I went to Kodak for the photos and then down to the Bluport branch of Bangkok Bank to get my letter and updated bank book.
I am planning an LA-to-Miami roadtrip next month and I would like to take my girlfriend with me, if possible. We have an appointment at the US Embassy on the 23rd to see about getting her a tourist visa. A helpful supporting document is six months of bank statements from her sponsor. So I went ahead and shelled out another 100 baht for those statements while I was doing everything else.
I then went to Immigration and got everything copied. Filled out an application for a ‘multiple entry’ as well. Went upstairs, took my number, and waited my turn. It was kind of busy, but I was seated in front of an officer in about 20 minutes. He looked at everything and then asked to see my bank book. Uh-oh…what’s the problem? I gave it to him. He looked at it and informed me that the bank did not update it far back enough to fulfill the requirement. What is it…three months? I think the bank only updated back for two months…maybe even less.
The officer told me that this would easily be fixed if I would just go back to my bank and get a statement for the last six months of my account. Oh, really!? Well, I just happen to have a six-month statement back at my bike. Wait right here a sec. I ran out to my bike and got the statement that was meant for the US Embassy. So thankful I had it. I was stamped and out the door ten minutes later.
So, I guess this is a cautionary tale. When you go to get your bank book updated, make sure that they at least go back the required number of months. Maybe I’m the last guy that knew this, but I had to put it out there. I hadn’t even bothered to look. I had assumed the clerk, who was also providing me a letter, would have known better. Shame on me.

I assume that was to prove monthly income as a 'cash in the bank' it's not necessary.
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Yes, if you don't keep your bank book updated, not all transactions will be entered when it is made up. If you have gaps, then Immigration will insist on a statement (in my case I was told a 12 month statement).

Yes, I’ve decided that I will go and update my bank book every two or three months, just to be safe.
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Today, I went to Tha Yang Immigration and renewed my extension based on retirement. I have a Non-Immigrant visa. I used the 800,000 baht in the bank method. This is what I did/submitted:
1. A completed TM 7 Form with a picture.
2. My passport and a copy of each page that has data on it - including my last 90 day report, Departure Card and Address Certification Form.
3. Two letters from Bangkok Bank in Cha Am certifying my account. They knew exactly what to do.
4. My Bangkok Bank passbook, and a copy of each page. Bangkok Bank updated it today with a B/F entry dated 07/06/22.
5. I am married to a Thai woman and we own a house. The Bluebook and a copy signed by my wife. A copy of my wife’s ID card signed by her. My wife had to work and was not with me.
6. A map showing the location of our house - signed by my wife and me.
7. A 1900 baht fee.
I also applied for a single reentry permit.
1. A completed TM 8 Form with a picture.
2. A copy of all pages in my passport that have data on them
3. A 1000 baht fee.
I was in and out in 54 minutes, and was very pleased with the service. Again, the woman who works outside was very helpful.
Hope this helps.

Presuming this was an "O" visa and you didn't need insurance ?kwajdiver wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 2:26 pm Today, I went to Tha Yang Immigration and renewed my extension based on retirement. I have a Non-Immigrant visa. I used the 800,000 baht in the bank method. This is what I did/submitted:

"Presuming this was an "O" visa and you didn't need insurance ?"
I taught at a Thai university for five years with a Non-Immigrant visa, and my extensions were based on a work permit. I retired last year, and now my extensions are based on the retirement requirements (e.g. 800,000 baht in the bank…….). There is no insurance requirement. See the Link below.

Retirement visa income + cash in bank
Has anyone used the method of income from abroad coupled with cash in bank to renew their retirement visa( a straight forward not a marriage visa) this year. Anticipating a possible heavy fall in GBP when economies recover and the direction of the Baht being problematical I wish to be prepared for all eventualities
Re: Retirement visa income + cash in bank
I used to use cash in the bank for renewal but always tried to maintain the 65,000 monthly deposit into account too. Now I don't care about either as I use a broker to renew my visa. Saves on the 4 hour RT to immigration where I live and takes only part of the paperwork. Much less to accumulate and just dent in the mail and get back in mail.
When in Hua Hin never had any problems like I have here in NST, Process was easy and quick.
